I just got off the phone with lantern before a procedure I was gonna have done (removal of tumor) and they said I have to go through one of their providers-- that have less than 1% complication rate.
I never called because the card says "bariatric surgery required" now they wanna slow everything down and start the whole consult all over again delaying my procedure.
I dont know what to do, what is even the point of that- seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Called uhc and they said lamtern isnt required "no auto deny"
But man if thats not toying with someone's life I dont know what is.
Lantern out of the blue goes back on "bariatric surgery required" and not gonna lie the gentleman I was talking to on the phone sounded just as distraught over that as much as I was.

@OP I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. I’ve never utilized Lantern. Feels like extra steps. I just call my primary or go directly to a specialist if needed. I have United Healthcare. So I glance at in-network providers and definitely patient reviews.
Does your insurance require you to utilize Lantern?
