There are people that install, provision and maintain the telephone network and then there are 7 levels of people that measure the pace of that work being done and talk about it on conference calls all day. Each level getting a bigger bonus than the last all based on the work of the lowest level employees output. I know that’s a bit oversimplified but really it’s pretty close.

So pretty much everything that can be done by one person in a foreign country and ai....well, except for physically installing a service. Am i right noble desk jockey?

You only have work because many people support YOU. Someone still has to sell the service, provision the service, schedule the dispatch, order the materials, buy your fuel and tools, invoice the customer, pay the bills, make the interconnect agreements, purchase the building to place the equipment and make sure the government doesn’t come looking for everyone.
It doesn't even cost you when you sc--w up like in the normal trades, the company just sends another person to fix it and you get a little mark on an imaginary performance metric.

There is no climbing to the the top of the food chain these days at T as it is riding some friend or family members coat tails or kissing enough butt to get there.

Replace people that install provision and maintain the network with Sales, (CSE, SALs) and you have the same thing..layers upon layers , sales manager, a few directors, usually multiple AVPs & VPs then C-levels, oh and don’t forget the support and overlay roles and that same repetitive hierarchy that all get a piece..
I keep my output up with a daily dose of fiber. And I’m not talking about the glass you boys pull
