I know my role is being eliminated, given this isn't a mass layoff situation in my case, will the date definitely be a Tuesday? Or is that more of a general rule?

@OP Usually Tuesdays, following a pay day....
I heard they just did another small layoff this last week
@ab so you said terminations for performance are done in close proximity to the incident; what about those terminations that are done due to poor evaluations?
If you're getting a severance, almost always on the Tuesday after payday cadence. There are exceptions, but not many in the grand scheme. On the most recent round it was less than 100, but larger rounds are coming.
Every layoff (position elimination) is done on Tuesday as per HRs process and pipeline. common displacement dates were established in 2020 and have either been monthly or biweekly ...but it's a highly organized process to move business cases through each step and ensure signoff and roks reviews. Cases that lack sufficient support documentation are reassigned to future dates.. This is true for one layoff or 1000.
Terminations for cause (performance, theft , ethics, job abandonment, etc) can be done on any day and normally happen in close proximity to the incident that triggered it. They can also be on a Tuesday, but they do not have to be.
General rule and covers the vast majority.
