On a scale of 1 to 10? I'd give mine a generous 3. And he's the best of the last three I had.

Why do toxic directors and their “team” feel validated by intercepting other teams’ projects? They destroy a once fully functioning team, then thrive on stealing ideas from peers in a now dog-eat-dog atmosphere to stay afloat? … so sad that it’s come to this…

I’ve had 15 during mental here. Most were really good and a few that were just ok. Every single good on has left for better pay and title.

Can also say that many of these should have been promoted because they knew the business and they were good leaders. In almost every instance, the organization have promotions to the “political lapdogs” instead of my good bosses. That’s why they left.

As a woman, I ca also say that politically savvy women ca do very well in certain divisions. The two best bosses I had were white men in their 40s. Knew their stuff, were kind, coached me, but set fair expectations and held me accountable. Neither of them received promotions, both left and are C-level at other companies.

Reflecting this, i think I need to reach out to them to see if they have any opportunities.

@188 They will pay her/him around seven figures to walk away. Don’t get too excited when the next scapegoat exits. These parasites end up on their feet with more money than you and I could comprehend.

(-45) Says yes to all his superiors. Treats his directs like id--ts. Steals all the ideas from his team and puts it on his review. I could not get away. Anytime I moved he always ended up being my manager. The people protecting him have all been told to leave. I wish I could be there when they walk him out.

8/10, pretty good. There are a lot things I'm not happy with but it really isn't within my managers control.

Mine is a 1! She is toxic and does absolutely nothing. How people with her lack of capability make it to senior levels is beyond me. It’s a reason this organization is going in the wrong direction.

Manager a 10. Company barely a 1.

I’d rate my manager 1/10, and that’s generous. I work in Media for Europe, and my manager is one of the worst I’ve dealt with in my career: toxic, divisive, unclear, and completely lacking in leadership. He creates confusion, ki-ls morale, and makes the job far more miserable than it needs to be. But heey, he was promoted to a big role, so I assume that's the recipe for success
