@OP sorry for your loss. What department is you at?
The job market is rough so if you think the severance plus your savings can get you through a year or 2 then you could possibly explore new opportunities. If not then retail transition may be helpful until you find something you want to do. It is taking people an average 3 - 9 months to find their next career opportunities
