If you were laid off, at least you get to walk away with severance. The rest of us are stuck with more work, higher expectations, and no extra money. I'm still praying to be notified.

You could ask for a mutual separation. Look up legalities for this and so they don't try to spin it around into you quitting. There is a middle ground where you can have it drafted up as a mutual separation and severance included.
Let's not engage in a competition of suffering. Who wants to win? Everyone is facing their on particular problem set. We can't know what others are facing. Don't assume. Let's be kind to one another.

I do understand and respect the stress you're expecting. From extra work loads and more.
And I'm thankful to have the severance as a cushion before the blow.
But many of my colleagues in the field are struggling to get jobs now. The market is oversaturated bc of so many layoffs and so many companies switching to AI.
It's not going to be easy to find work. Especially for those of us that are older.
For people that have been re-badged or RIFd, it's two bad scenarios for them. For people that have not been affected (yet), they aren't in a good position either. An interesting business strategy to make everyone unhappy.
@aa agreed here. OP is being insensitive to those that would have chosen to remain employed during economic turmoil....
@OP what a stupid thing to say, poor folk have lost their jobs and all the security that goes with it and you’re pretending to be upset because you still have a job.
