Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Total confusion.

So I was part of the group on March 22 that was RIF’d but then forced to stay working until end of June and then quickly extended until end of August. It seems like the people RIF’d today are done as of today. I want that deal! Trying to stay working on the titanic is brutal and not good for mental health. Who the he-l is making these decisions?

Get ready. They will be asking you to extend again because Cognizant can’t hire anyone to do the jobs. I wouldn’t sign an extension without more money. Ask for an extension bonus or increase severance. You have the upper hand now

Same here. No motivation to stay on the sinking ship. To see how this latest round was handled is shocking and disgusting. I am grateful that I wasn’t handed over to Cognizant like others I know. It has been a complete dumpster fire there, but I have to say it’s not much better here waiting for that August date.

I am part of the March RIF as well. My last day was supposed to be end of June and I am extended until end of August as well. The only thing that changed from my original severance was the separation date. There was an option to decline and keep my original separation date or be considered for vendor transfer (re-badge) as well. I took the extension but asked not to be considered for vendor transfer.

If you're struggling with your mental and/or physical health, you are still able to take a medical leave as long as you're actively employed, regardless of whether your job is being eliminated in August. This obviously involves obtaining an official medical certification, but you won't forfeit your severance, since the leave is protected (FMLA if you're in the US). Please take care of yourselves

@OP why on earth would you want to be terminated immediately, do you have another job already?

Do you mind sharing why do you cant just say you are done and not waiting until August?

They probably need you until a project or certain work is complete and it won’t be done until end of July. That’s my guess.
