Aside from the COVID period AT&T has laid people off twice a year for decades.

@OP Layoffs are expedited and far more numerous now. Gotta keep those stockholders happy. AT&T definitely has fat, sadly, it is often teams that are already understaffed that take the reductions.

For managers, layoffs happen on a monthly basis, they are always ongoing.

It may be 3 times this year:

1-Today June, 17 for July 1 off payroll
effective for Q3 with fewer employees

2-Sept for Oct 1 off payroll
effective for Q3 with fewer employees

& Maybe 1 small one end of summer: August…
depends on how Q3 looks…
