How to keep your leadership in check with RTO policy

Laptops in the company still have attuids assigned to their computer name. Use ADUC or the PowerShell activedirectory module to search for computers belonging to anyone in your leadership chain. Once you find their computer, you'll want to perform a ping on their computer name, followed by nslookup to see which domain controller they are connected to. It will tell you if they are connected to VPN and are therefore not in the office.

Subsequently, make a PowerShell script that automates this whole process, and now you have a way to track RTO compliance of executives. You can run it every 20 minutes to track who is doing less than 8 hours in the office.

Once you find someone, lodge a complaint with HR indicating that you believe they are violating RTO policy.

Buddy thinks same RTO rules apply to leadership as the rest of us

Great way to get fired. Just do your minimum and go home. No need to invest any effort here. Reply to 2-4 emails a day, those that would get you in trouble if you didnt. Rinse/repeat.

@OP Dude, how old are you? This is some flat out goof ball stuff. Find a job where your ‘ideas’ align your juvenile BS. I’m sure your leadership has your number, cause people like you can’t help but share their ideas.

OP has a great idea. As many as can follow their instructins should. This will improve the surplus by reducing the required numbers bca the pool of employees will be smaller due to COBC terminations. This is exactly what the surplus goal is trying to do.

@c7 This person does NOT report to a drop in kiosk without dividers. They have a private office. They can also rot in h3ll.

Is it any wonder why they are reducing headcount. These are the ideas you’re drumming up! This obsession with RTO is frankly pathetic. If you’re that miserable move on. Seriously, shut up about it! I’ve never seen more whining in my life than on this site.

They will just block powershell access for all employees. Don't do this. Some people use it for actual work.

It's no secret that management and leadership works below average hours. They will always claim to be in off-site meetings and hence, little activity on their laptops. That's their ammo. So it will backfire on you for "spying." We are all aware they are lazy and tend to push the work down to the employees. The lazier they are and the more excuses they have, the faster they get promoted.

OMG OP! Stupid is as stupid goes. I can only imagine how much fun it will be when 2 AP investigators show up at your location, confiscate your PC and show you computer logs of your inquiries. I'd like to hear your answer on how your actions are part of your job description, and why it is not a misuse of company equipment and network. Lastly, don't forget to come back to this site and tell us about your exit interview and attempt to collect unemployment.

Such a stupid idea and a waste of time. Will you also report an executive is working less than 40 hours or more than 40 hours to OSHA? Do you have access to the executive's schedule to know when this is a supposed violation? To the locations they are responsible for? What if HR is under the executive you are reporting on? Do you really want your name identified with misuse of company assets, a COBC violation?

Just because you "don't need special permissions to do this" doesn't mean that it is right or permissible. The COBC explains principles of conduct, it would be impossible to list every 'don't'.

I should note: you don't need special permissions to do this. Anyone can do this.

This is why this is so fun. :)
