Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Execs need to read the room

I don’t care what your favorite dessert is or what your summer vacation plans are. Read the f’ing room. I’m too busy trying to figure out how I’m going to keep a roof over my head if I get laid off to care that you road your bike in Italy. The water cooler conversation in Chandler is how many people got laid off the week before.

SP has a great post in Linked In about how he manages his mental health by doing triathlons. Oh joy joy. So he does the most expensive gear head sport there is while cutting jobs left and right. So glad HIS mental health is strong. Read the f’ing room! I’m sure all the people you laid off SP should just buy a $12k bike and a $600 wetsuit and start doing triathlons. Do they really wonder why they are so hated?

People like TK, are oblivious as to how they come across because they are making big bucks and collecting stock while messing things up and blaming others or being protected by their peers. They don’t care what struggles others have as long as they can travel , dance, pay their mortgages , buy their cars etc.

People are starting to get real mean too. Teamwork os disappearing and everyone is snapping at each other. It’s a bad atmosphere right now. Once they start cutting to the bone people are gonna get extra nasty. HR betts get ready for an uptick in complaints.

It’s a toxic positivity thing— if you aren’t winning you must be a loser. If you didn’t grow up with a jet set lifestyle you are one of the poors. Winners keep winning and love to showboat their wins! Other winners see the winner and their inner winner gets more motivated to win!

CAO town halls!! The repeat discussions about E.E's favorite food and his global vacations happen every quarter. All of those stupid people in the audience with those d-mb grins on their faces are next to be cut next

No one is trying to read the room. They want as many of you to go as possible.

Quit thinking these individuals are “leaders”. They are soldiers. You are not human. They are not human. They do not care. Quit seeking leadership out of non leaders.

The real trick is to try and figure out the m- prompts.A I is written for them. At this point, there's nothing going on upstairs in any of their heads. Here's an idea. Set up a bingo card or a drinking card with your friends. The next time one of these town halls occurs check off every box where some AI cheerleader statement is repeated verbatim. If you really want to get hammered, anything that sounds like it would come from the mouth of an exec about pivoting and leaning in and tick and tie.

Town hall meetings the last year or two feel a little like being the crew below decks, desperately bailing out water and patching holes in the hull, while the captains are on deck talking about the sunset. After 23 straight quarters of head count reductions, the only thing I want to hear execs talking about how they plan to stop the bleeding. Any other topic just exacerbates the divide between leadership and employees.

They really know how to relate with their big diamonds and Rolex watches.

Town halls need to stop. They add no value. No one wants them and execs won't share anything that really matters. It's all gaslighting.

Reading the room is the last thing on their minds nor do they care to. It's all about them, their position, their status, their egos and how much the other peasants feed it and, most importantly, the MONEY!!!! It's nothing but a dog and pony show to to show you useless feeders thy are better than you.

News Flash: With the introduction of Artificial Intelligence and all of the future potential it holds, “Reading The Room” is certainly NOT on any serious executive of WF’s mind right now. Employees of this bank, and all other institutions around the world, interested only in improving the corporate bottom line, should be more concerned about how they will be making a living in the soon to be new business world order. Coming soon to all workplaces eager to make MONEY and not at all interested in keeping employees HAPPY! Hasn’t anyone been keeping up with current events?

I’m not your friend exec and I’m not happy for you. Your success comes from squeezing me. You can f off.

OMG! They're still doing that?
Every time we did those town hall calls, someone was bragging. Also, this was about five years ago that I am talking about. Unreal!

While they sip their $7 bottle of water and us peasants are refilling our 79-cent water bottles from Kroger at the water cooler...
