Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Are we done yet?

so now what?

is today the last day of layoffs and tomorrow and thurs are the 'reshuffle the deck', deck of cards that are 2's and 3's and a couple 7's of clubs

russian roulette done, now time for low stakes poker and playing bad hands

what a joke this is, every year, there's nothing left of us, no hope, no ambition, just fear and low energy

all the wind taken out of our sails

that phk celebration gonna be real fun, but then again, the east campus seemed untouched, so I guess ol tech doesn't matter

time to move on if you haven't already........for those that remain, spend all energy on new opportunities.....this place isn't going to let anyone else retire from...those days are over....long tenured.....big red x on back.....just how it's playing out

As CEO, I would ask the company to create two or three lower-priced modern shoe lines to sell during those times. People still don't get it. No one has the money to buy expensive things. You need to cut costs and create both cheaper and more expensive shoe lines. They need to reach everyone and every pocket to make money in these times and stay in business. It's just simple economics.

There is no finish line.

Especially with layoffs.

In Europe it's not done. Tomorrow an extra meeting about what's going to happen to Nike Belgium. Is this how they change course? Layoff after layoff, to please the shareholders? I get it, but do something about the real problems as well. Stop bringing out new air max, air force one and air Jordan in a new color, a slightly different logo... Stop doing that! Innovate please. Bring something new. And not a shoe with little ba--s to stimulate my brain. Totally no scientific proof this works. No proof at all...
And imagine that you step in dogshit with those shoes on. Then you're brain is definitely being stimulated. How the f..k are you ever going to get it out of the little cylinders?? Ten years ago, all the other brands were trying to catch up to us. Now we are legging behind. And the gap is getting bigger and bigger. And layoff after layoff isn't going to cut it. Elliot take the paycheck for the third time, and go. And maybe in the future after a real CEO points the ship in the right direction, sell your shares, and make money on Nike for the fourth time.
You people have no accountability. It's the man at the bottom who pays the bill. Not Donahue not Hill, none of them ...

gt-connect slack is down to ~7560 today, and often updates slowly. we will have shed at least 1000 GT employees since Friday 4/17 by EOD, plus the ~300 airMI cuts. Not all GT FTE's are actually in the channel as well. So I am confident it will finally be over today.

The company is not in a good place. Those of us left are either looking for a new job actively, just coasting until Nike gives us a 2-month vacation, severance, and UI. The company has proven it has no growth direction left.
