Leadership keeps stripping away every reason I, or anyone else, would have to stay motivated.

You can fantasize about retaliating t-t-for-tat against the bank. But at the end of the day, you need the money, and you work hard to maximize your chances of continuing to get it.
@dg aj poster here - you are absolutely correct on that. Never stop building your resume and network.
@OP if the job market was on fire, we would not be treated as a number, guaranteed. Why do they keep saying attrition is low? Because no one can afford to leave. They also want remote people to quit, so they are making sure performance increases are lower, you can't get promoted, etc. Its a soft layoff. The 'all hands' calls are a joke. Surveys are a joke. Nothing is going to change. 5 - 10 years ago, this place was wayyyy better. People can only be 'thankful' for their job for so long.
@aj the best time to look is while you are still employed. Don’t wait for a layoff, I’ve had several interviews with other firms and depending on your skill set, banking isn’t as bad as you would expect. Tech may be worse but general banking I’ve had some luck
My motivation is not to end up in the job market right now! I know many talented people laid off in the last 2 years who’ve gone through blood, sweat and many tears to land a job. And often not their ideal role they see a future in. I want no part of that stress if I can avoid it. I do not agree with what’s going on and what I’m watching, but I also know what sits on the other side and for me right now it’s a pick my battles situation for my life, my family, and my health.
Giving the customers, borrowers and depositors even more reason to leave for better managers of their financial assets, but the USB via McKinsey consultant mentality has never worried about accountability or results, if it looks good on paper, it will work in real world production and performance (that's a laugher)
What would they do if no one showed up for one day? They cant fire everyone. Something needs to be done. Things are getting out of hand..
Leadership wants you to voluntarily resign. They are looking to cut down on head count numbers. Plain and simple.
Don’t make it easy for the psychos.
My motivation is to not get fired for cause. To not get put on a PIP. If I get laid off so be it.
