Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

New WFA policy is just bitter and vindictive

I don't understand what anyone will achieve by reducing work from anywhere days from 10 to 8. Like wtf company will benefit from extra 2 days a year in office work. Like it's not even vacation just wfa.

It's just feels like RV personal hate for all BNY employees showing up. It's bitter and vindictive and servers no real purpose. What even is the point of this.

What a nonsense.

Reduce WFA days.
Reduce volunteer days.
Hold 401k match all year.
Fire people over the holidays.
How much proof does one need that management does not care about employees? All for me, none for thee.

Its a new low to reduce WFA days and only allow them in 2 day increments. Sounds like the start of phasing them out completely. It costs them nothing, they really are trying to push people out.

There is literally no point to it other than to make your life more difficult and want to quit. It cost the company nothing for the old benefit, and the change does not increase output or production. This change only does one thing, make things less flexible for the employees.

This is not unusual at all. They want you to do WFA in week-long increments so 4 days WFA plus the WFH day you would have had anyway equals the week.

That’s right, must take 2 days at a time.

When these were first rolled out, using them for WFH was allowed. The people team explained these could be used to extend time away on a vacation or to spend time in a second home. But not to be used when one was home. It was a major insult and we could not protest loudly because that was the first time I attended a people team meeting where only the hosts could speak. I made some comments and asked some questions, only to be ignored by the hosting saying “I see no more questions on the chat”.

Sad place.

This is just a belated Christmas gift from Robin reminding you that you are of zero value here.
Like inmates in RV’s correctional facility, you are nothing , have nothing and get nothing.
The only thing you get is less benefits and cups of free pruno from this joint.

My guess is that other companies have reduced to 7 days and, therefore, Robin can tout 8 as some major to attract talent. He's not very smart.

Agree 100%

Can you do them as one day instances? I thought I read somewhere that if you do a WFA that you have to do 2 consecutive days, thus reducing the WFA instances down to 4 occasions a year…
