How the he-l do I even start a job search after two decades? I was convinced I'd retire here. I was given zero indications that I wasn't safe. I gave Oracle my all for so long and this is how they repay me.

I truly pity your life
I was there for more than 25 years and I'm in my early 70s. Don't know if I want to retire or not. I do, but I hate not having a job, so don't know what I'm going to do. Once the shock wears off I'll be able to think more clearly but in the mean time, I've been furiously networking.
30 years plus for me. I'm in my late 50s. Too early to retire and I wasn't planning to, but that's an option. I will give the job market a go and see if there's anything for me out there. It's a blow, but change often brings good things. Here's hoping. I'm not goint to let this break me. I really did love my job though, and my team. Lots of emotions right now, for those of us who've gone, and those that are left, worrying at the desks.

I was at Oracle 12 years, but they paid me well for all those years, and I suspect they paid you well, too. Definitely disappointed that Oracle does this, but hold your head high and don't let anyone own your attitude except you (especially not a corporation that seems to draw names out of a hat for who to let go). I bet we all figure out how to do the job search and end up somewhere even better! Let's do this!
@OP Almost 30 years. I was also thinking to retire here. Well, I may still do. But I'm still at early 50s, so I'm not sure.
