Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

~30k employees target?

Can anyone confirm if the goal is to reduce the work force to around 30k employees? That would mean a major layoff compared to the current staff size. I came across a comment about this and wanted to see if anyone senior here can confirm this information

@a9 does that still include the World Pay people? That number seems significantly higher than has been reported elsewhere.

When I started in 2022 I was told we had 70k and even maybe 80k. Recently saw the communication that said 50k. Wild to think it's been 20-30k in 3 years. I won't do the math on how many that is if the target's 30k...

Based on 10-K filing, As of December 31, 2024, FIS had an employee count of 50,000.

@bd it's pretty obvious. Like operational functions, accounting, finance, hr etc will find redundancies. Legacy credit at FIS, especially in North America, will be decimated.

I wonder how many people will be brought on as a result of the TSYS acquisition. If targeting 30k post acquisition that would mean even more cuts from legacy….

@OP this is exactly what I was told by a legacy who sees all the finance data. It was 35k but supposedly now it is 30k. Who knows what the truth is although so far everything this person has told me so far has been truth. Just update your resume, preparing in the event your number is called. Don’t sweat what you can’t change but prepare to move on.

Don't forget, they reduce our headcount, and give the jobs to outsourced vendors in India. With all the cheerleading on AI, I could see that the goal would be to get on -shore staff in the 30K range. All while the product and services circle the drain.

@ae “As of mid-August, per an SVP, headcount was at 45k.”

Doesn’t take much more to drop down from 45 to 3? range, totally possible over next 12 months - this isn’t over tomorrow.

As of mid-August, per an SVP, headcount was at 45k. I believe we started the year in the 60s for global headcount.

I found a power BI dashboard that says we have 75k employees. 30k would be insane

Wow, really. I wish FIS would come out a d day here is what we are working toward and this means we will reduce the workforce to meet these goals.

Feels like this is just speculation as that would be almost cutting the workforce in half, which seems sui-idal. I have no idea what the head count is at this point after multiple months of layoffs because none of that seems like it has even been reported on. If true, it sounds like we are simply trying to be positioned to be sold.
