Works Council confirmed plan to move support roles to low cost locations but we're also being told that voluntary redundancies won't be offered on our teams. There's also no sign of mandatory redundancies. Instead it feels like there's a concerted effort in the support organization to get people to quit without redundancy payments:
- Board member laughing that 100% of support tickets should be done by AI.
- Tech support staff being openly referred to as 'just monkeys' by management on all hands calls.
- Promised promotions don't materialize year after year for budgetary reasons.
- Support being told almost all incidents will be handled via chat support, with the plan to demote everybody to nearly full time chat support.
- Return to office mandate even for those with 5+ hour daily commutes.
- New performance ratings where employees can be labeled as 'tin' for poor performance, ratings are hidden from engineers and depending on your role it's not possible to increase them.
SAP used to be a great place to work and I never thought I'd see what's happening at the moment, would be interested to know if this is going on in other lines of business too?
