Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Audit is a MESS

Before anyone says why haven't I left. I'm trying.
1 - I'm on my 5th manager in 1 year. Everyone has left (many cases for lesser paying jobs just to get out) that had any institutional knowledge or care for the organization. My current manager told me bluntly they are out of here after pay day. Not surprised. Leadership left is abysmal at best. My old leader at another institution got a call from a headhunter for a top role and declined even the conversation.
2 - Morale can't go any lower without digging into the ground. No awkward happy hour or uncomfortable team cheer session will change that.
3 - after six months of confusion and chaos department training was no different. Never seen anything like it at any other institution I have been at. A deck prepared by consultants and presenters reading off the page. By the last day I zoned out because it was obvious not even those teaching knew what was happening.
4- My job keeps changing. Guess this goes back to #1. We have newbies covering things seasoned auditors should be doing. My days are spent answering questions to more senior people and then checking the work of the more junior.

We have fallen far. Nuff said.

Did anyone expect things to get better with DD? She messed things up at MUFG and her teams were inept at best. Now there is a posting for a MD for Regulatory Initiatives. To be able to report and track all these regulatory issues. She had that at MUFG and still as unable to resolve anything. Just a lot of finger pointing and threats.

I’d prefer Martin sit on the Iron Throne

I suggest a game of Audit Survivor. Who would you vote off the island first?

So if Demaio is on the two year plan that leaves Martin at the helm when she leaves. I think we would all agree that is arguably even a worse situation. Can only hope that would be temporary until the board wakes up and stops sleeping at the wheel.

Things will change when the current id--t is voted out of the white house

@3vjx+1r3kEXEF Sherlock, from a regulatory standpoint, Warren and her cronies CAUSED the cr-p we have to deal with. The seeds of this economy takedown were down DECADES ago. And the mortgage debacle of 2007-2009? That was Bill Clinton, Christopher Dodd and Barney Frank’s’ doing. But then Dodd and Frank pushed through the lovely Dodd Frank Act.

Remember, she said she only stays in a role for 2 years, so her clock is running out! 🙄

Demaio, made a mess of MUFG. Her folks could never agree on what was an issue and what closed an issue. They had repeat findings, etc. Truist is so lucky to have her, NOT. She will ki-l a culture , blame others, and create a toxic culture.

ELT is beyond toxic and completely out of touch with the department as evidenced by their shock with the continued decline in survey results. News flash — we’re just responding to the dumpster fire you’ve created but please continue gaslighting us with your version of why scores are so low. The condescending tone from DD and her cronies makes us all warm and fuzzy. I can’t imagine why morale is in the toilet.

The reason DD was hired was she fit the Suntrust smartest kid in the room metrics. She scored perfect on that test.

If awkward happy hour is not working, try blackout drunk.

By my view, there was something off about DD from the day she walked in the door. She struck me as a self-serving know it all who perceived herself as being brought in to fix a dysfunctional area full of id--ts. Spoke down to the team as if they were inept. “We need big bank experience”… STFU. I exited as soon as I could and I’m not suprised it’s still a dumpster fire. Don’t be the last one standing.

We were told last year to find next year as much as we can for audit so payouts will be lower for retail divisions. They had us find less stuff in 2023 so we can hammer 2024 when it’s part of pay outs.

I thought my dept was horrible -- but 5 managers in a year is wild. This bank is such a dumpster fire it's ridic.

Wow! You mean DeMaio and her MUFG cronies haven’t fixed audit yet. That’s hard to believe 😮
