Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Anyone else on MMB Service Leader call today?

Unbelievable! These Wholesale Risk and FC people are clueless! They are instructing the front office on policies and processes, but don’t even understand it themselves. Not to mention, the RAs should have attended the call. Now, CSMs are responsible for delivering the message which will, inevitably, be diluted!

I am so sick of being beat up, reprimanded, demeaned and blamed. We have spent almost 4 years cleaning up our predecessors’ mess and doing our best to adhere to wholesale standards which change every other day. It’s almost impossible to keep up, but we’ve all done the best we can with what we’ve been given.

For the host to tell us we need to do a better job is offensive! We are short staffed, buried with due diligence requirements (periodic reviews, lookback projects, data quality issues caused by WFCRC, etc) and are faced with absurd SLAs. Adding insult to injury, the majority of WFCRC consultants we now work with are in India. Clearly, they don’t fully understand policies and procedures because we are constantly fighting senseless battles with these consultants. Essentially, we’re doing their job for them by researching policy and sending to them to prove they’re wrong.

I’m tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop. I used to love my job! I enjoyed being able to coach and develop my team, collaborate, analyze, strategize, engage customers. Unfortunately, that’s a thing of the past.

I’ve given serious thought to being assessed for PTSD. According to American Paychiatric Association, Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disorder that may occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a serious accident, war/combat, or who have been threatened with d__th or serious injury. (I removed some descriptions for this post.)

You are choosing your experience in exchange for money, that’s the transaction. If you don’t like your experience, stop taking the money, you cannot have it both ways.

You didn’t make a plan, and you basically expect a psychologist to bail you.

@1gjl I have the utmost respect for our military personnel and would never compare an office job to military combat. However, PTSD is not exclusive to the military. Hence, the reason I included the excerpt from American Psychiatric Assoc. I knew someone like you would chastise me for making the comment.

Yes, in fact, I am extremely fearful of my “office job” every day. I would love to find another job! I have been actively looking. Unfortunately, the opportunities where I live are slim to none. I have a family to provide for and can’t just quit.

Other than military service, have you experienced a terrifying event? I grew up with a physically and mentally abusive parent. Constantly afraid I would do or say something that would trigger “unpleasant” consequences which left me wondering what I had done wrong with no explanation. This feels MUCH like that.

PTSD is not reserved for military and and physical trauma.

You’re trying to say that going to your office job is a terrifying event?

I’m sure some of our veterans who have lost limbs and loved ones in combat would beg to differ.

Here’s the difference between your office job and being in a job, like the Marines where PTSD is a real thing.... you can quit, and a Marine cannot. You probably should quit, I can guarantee that expectations for individuals not laid off will only increase from this point forward.

It is possible to have C-PTSD (complex post traumatic disorder) if you are repeatedly fearful. PTSD is also protected by the ADA.
