@3ae yep your exactly right!
MAJOR layoff coming in Oct. Bet the house on it. Staples again mismanages themselves and can’t make a dime. Once great company in flames. Please RIF all top management starting with sds frauds. Who is with me?
100% by design. No mistake here.
Hahahahaha More layoffs to come.
Staples could lose up to $158 million in total receivables due to the impending wind-down and liquidation of its subsidiary, Essendant.
According to financial disclosures provided to lenders in September 2026, Staples’ exposure breaks down into two categories:
$75 million in loan receivables
$83 million in trade receivables.
This disclosure comes as Essendant, a 104-year-old wholesale distributor acquired by Staples’ parent private equity firm Sycamore Partners in 2019, prepares to cease all operations and permanently close its remaining distribution network after failing to successfully pivot its business model.
There is growing concern within the Furniture organization about declining morale, excessive micromanagement, and increasing uncertainty around job security. Many employees feel they are being constantly monitored and second-guessed rather than trusted to perform their roles. This lack of autonomy has created frustration, stress, and a feeling that employees’ experience and judgment are not valued.
There is also a growing perception of favoritism in hiring, promotions, restructures, and terminations, with personal relationships sometimes appearing to outweigh performance, experience, and qualifications. This has contributed to the loss of talented and experienced employees and raised concerns about leadership decisions.
Many employees fear another round of layoffs and feel that strong performance does not necessarily provide job security. The previous leadership team fostered a culture of trust, respect, and accountability, while many employees now feel that uncertainty, micromanagement, and inconsistent decision-making have replaced that environment. People are not happy with this current management.
Upper management should take a closer look at these recurring concerns. Rebuilding trust will require transparent leadership, consistent decision-making, accountability, and a commitment to hiring and promoting based on merit. The Furniture organization has talented employees who want the business to succeed, and addressing these issues could significantly improve morale, retention, and confidence.
@2q3 It’s not news. Offshoring of IT jobs and others has been happening for over a decade. Nobody cares.
For those that are complaining about the GCC, why aren't you doing something about it? Contact your local representative or TV news outlet. Let them know that American jobs are being offshored to India. Complain all you want but if you want the Staples leadership to be held accountable, people outside the organization need to know.
@24s I know you're shocked, right? Nobody can see layoffs happening at the Titanic. Lol!
GTFOH - this industry is going down.
The layoffs!! Layoffs?? They should start with the sds VPs
What vertical?
@1fa 100% ASMs know. Mine has been off lately with the team and hearing several will be cut and teams consolidated.
@1fa inklins on wat
Yes there are rumblings. ASM’s seem to have an inkling
@gy anyone else hear gcc funding cuts coming as Fram layoffs along can’t save budget
It’s funny how Staples always seems to promote and hire right before a major layoff. You’ll see people celebrating promotions or new hires on LinkedIn, only for many of them to be gone a couple of months later. It really makes you wonder what’s going on behind the scenes.
After this BTS. I would assume there will be layoffs
SDS In a shambles. Costs too high for CEO to stomach and what is being delivered is late & poor quality. SDS layoffs coming while SDS vps sit and watch the GCC tank too
I can share that I’m a SIAE and the ADs are the least impactful role in the org. Ever revolving door with zero accountability or structured sales growth tracking - all inflated, but hey - they do my admin work for me so I’m appreciated of that.
Always November
From the enterprise meeting yesterday, I would say it is all rainbows and butterflies and no chance of any layoffs, but looking at the numbers I am thinking... huh? November '24 was the last big one. I would imagine that if it happens it will be in November.
