Is this really a thing or it’s just another way of dragging people’s morale and push you to leave without getting severance? How long are we supposed to continue waiting for the crumbs?

@220 I think you misunderstood the situation. The new job postings are all about field operations, which means IOL still needs field operations personnel, but not as many corporate level employees.
@206 Everything this company is doing right now is an absolute joke. That job posting was written like Imperial is some kind of workplace utopia - where careers flourish and dreams come true. Maybe that was the old Imperial, but those days are long gone. And why the heck would they need a new Talent Recruiter anyway? To hire people just so they can lay them off in 2-3 years time? Utter bollocks!
Anyone see the irony that we have a talent recruiter job posting up in calgary lol
@1p6 I thought lots of people who are leaving and getting jobs elsewhere now are the better/highers tiers? The leftover are perhaps the mid/lower tier? Also aren't people leaving excluded from PDS ranking in that year?
Don’t understand why would anyone want to stay in this company after this fiasco.
You all understand that the Hunger Games start. All those VG will now be NSI. Less people to sacrifice and throw under the bus.
Fun times at IOL. Best of luck.
@18z but aren't all the accept/declines done now? So those initial declines have already been offered/filled.
Any further offers to the redeployment pool would likely be from people who accepted an offer, but resign between now and the move. Or am I missing something?
High chance, many teams seeing high amount of folks decline offers
@14e well aren't you just a ball of positivity
@14e this maybe overblown. There's less than 80 total there, about half are contractors, some are local/not mobile. Stop fear mongering.
@13s actually they are being paid competitively within their market, you can move there if you want and your local salary would go a long way.
Remember, some of this transformation job being moved to Spring, at 30% nominal extra cost in USD, for about 60-70% net cost increase.
With Norman Wells announced it's likely safe to assume they need to find landing spots for some of their personal. Higher performers will find spots from the large amount of no's. From there go back to the "redeployment pool" and fill the rest of the holes from that. If you're in that redeployment pool your role was either offloaded to BTC (which su-ks) or you're in it because you were not 1st choice, 2nd choice or 3rd choice. If you're the ladder time to do some soul searching and stop waiting for bread crumbs as that's how you got yourself into this position to begin with.
You should also be paid like those guys.
@113 work like balance like Argentina and don’t stress the details or quality like India
Folks, we should all follow the steps of our friends at GBC, BTC and MSP. Do bare minimum. Coast. Don't stress out, the company doesn't care, neither should you.
I have notice of continued employment.
I’m redeploying myself to another company. Grass may not be greener on the other side but I’ll take my chances there.
I’m done drinking their kool aide. Time for another master.
but what about the potential assessment process? They said I was 34+
Company has shown that it is no longer a stay for career type of relationship. Look out for yourself and make sure to max out your benefits, training, and work as least amount as possible til you find new job
Take your future in your hands. Don’t rely on a company.
I received an offer and I’m only staying until I get another job, then I’ll quit.
There’s no point staying in a place where there’s no future career and tons of uncertainty. You’re the golden child one year and the black sheep the next.
This place pays the bills for now. Everything corporate is transactional. The only constant is your life is your family.
What are the odds that you're the first runner-up, and someone accepted a job in Edmonton rather than severance, but will resign before the move?
If it was me, I'd get over it and double down on the job search externally.
@OP Nothing is final until it is final. But if you know you are hoping for crumbs, anything stop you from job searching and try to find a better one, while waiting ?
No one can tell until we get an offer letter or severance package in hand.
