Will mandatory RTO for the rest of the organization ever come? It’s a shock it hasn’t happened yet as a soft RIF. Does anyone have insight?

Has anyone been able to keep their telecommuter status even with RTO within 30 minutes of the core offices?
Does anyone know if they will expand it outside the radius in the current cities?
@13h how can WellMed RTO? Are there any “offices” outside of San Antonio anymore?
@dc
My understanding is they can deny severance but one can still file for unemployment if the move is more than 50 miles. Not totally skunked.
@13h what “leadership”?
Yes, WellMed will be RTO by end of March. It was announced to leadership today
Not everyone has an office near them to return to, so NO it won't be mandatory.
@bp Thats the point, dummy. When you "cant" do it, you are dismissed. Your job is gone. Goodbye. It allows them to lay you off without paying severance.
I heard that if you live more than 30 minutes from a UHG/Optum office then you don't have to RTO. Has anyone heard anything different from that?
I don’t understand how you would think everyone could even physically return to an office.
I don’t live in a “city”. And I live over an hour from any major city, and those cities do not have UHG or Optum offices anywhere. There is no where for me to go.
I am remote because I live in a literally remote place. Willingly.
