Severance for non-VPs

Anyone know the package? 2 weeks for every year? Does it get paid out in full when you sign the papers? Do they also give you your last regular paycheck for the work you've already done + vacation, etc? And are they enforcing non-competes?

Looks like it starts tomorrow

All conference rooms in our building are "closed" tomorrow and all meetings have been cancelled. Add that to our VP being at "management training." Good luck all

Here is a savings suggestion to Nike C-level lineup

Retire the online store - just like Starbucks did a week ago - tens of millions in savings. Negotiate with Amazon a 5 year no fee deal - thats called fresh thinking. Deal with fees in five years, online shopping will change anyway. IT is so bloated... — read more

Nike Pricing Issues

Someone else posted this in a separate thread - I am bumping it: We continue to price ourselves out of the market. More and more, people can't afford the product. Half the employees I speak with wouldn't even be able to afford the products if it... — read more

How many VPs does Nike have?

No matter what your answer here is, the number is huge. It's layer upon layer of well paid VPs who contribute to Nike in a marginal way. I'd say let's start with that layer, eliminate let's say 50% of all VPs and see what happens. I'd bet the numbers... — read more

Too many specialized positions

The DTC model has way to many positions that are a big waste of time! RDDs when they travel come in with at least 5 people in tow to visit a store.Pulling managers away hours at a time just to tell you the store is ran poorly with only being in the... — read more

Return to kick the employee to the curb type of layoffs

I live in Portland and used to work for Nike, as well as some of my family and friends. I have never been laid off, but have witnessed how these go since the early 90's. Nike has a lot of positives, but their layoffs reveal a darker side of the... — read more

Latest Rumor: Next Round Coming End of August

Dreading next week

Not sure if I am giving too much credence to rumors, but August 15 truly seems to be the D-day. I've been with Nike for over 10 years, and I used to love my job. Now, it's mostly a source of stress for me as I don't know if I am going to be next on... — read more

More 200 layoff rounds, or all at once?

So far, 200 people have been laid off. We all know more is coming in August, but what I was wondering is if Nike will go for the entire 1200 remaining at once, or will they split it up? In all honesty, I think I'd rather know right now, then have to... — read more

WHQ?

Anyone have an idea how many FTE's were let go yesterday at WHQ? It feels like most of the supposed 1,400 were there, maybe more. And it feels like most of those of us with at least 5 years or more were axed. A blood bath.

Nike - where careers go to die.

What is interesting, the decision makers (C-Suite) who got Nike in this bad position (actually this occurred before) still maintain their positions. T he problem is on the top floor not with the people they are laying off. The continue to make bad... — read more
