Sounds like the RIF is imminent...SEC outsourced to Accenture and SAP, transformation office disbanded, covid-19 impacts getting bigger and the CDiO running his playbook on outsourcing everything to vendors. If you’re an engineer in tech, I’d be dusting off my resume.

It's simple. Nike gives nothing about people - $$$ only. ES (finally gone) was the best at demonstrating how this works: Demand absolute loyalty (sounds familiar?) from his personal friend VP's (think JB,VA ... incompetent, they need to go) , promise the world but cut budgets, covers constant repeat failures of his friends and fires the levels right underneath to cover up disaster initiaitives (SEC, Tech Renew). ER covers the whole thing up (they are really part of Legal, not HR). Ratnakar ... he is new, give him a few months and he will be right there with them after he figures out his VPs replay the same nonsense they have for years but better covering (s—ing) it up than their peers who left or were sacked because they cared. Place is rotten, take advantage or leave whatever brings you more satisfaction.
People need to realize Nike is no longer a place where you can expect to spend your whole career and make long term impact. It's all about bulls***ing your way into a high position where you hit whatever numbers you need to, then you move on with your bonus. How you treat people is meaningless because you'll be repeating the same thing in another part of the company before anyone can do anything about it.
Given the rampant s-xism by the cdio, the layers upon layers upon layers of management and the push for the cdio to outsource to his friends, anyone who isn’t looking should be. The cuts will come, and I’d guess any group that grew in the name of ‘transformation’ will have a giant target on their back.
LOL at the ignoramus with the 2005 mindset that outsourcing solves all IT problems. Talk about not knowing anything about Tech or corporate history. Good luck working people to death and having them drink the Nike cool aid from Bangalore. Enjoy your substandard work that is now 10 times harder to govern for the "cheaper price".
Everyone with options in the Portland IT market avoids Nike like the plague now. Nike survives on fooling people from the outside with its great marketing and branding. Every two years they fire half of IT to either outsource or bring it back in ...over and over again. Zero stability and mostly clueless IT execs who are arrogant but completely lack the self awareness that they dont know what they are doing.
Wake up. John the new CEO comes from a Tech background Service Now is an AI outsource Vendor The CDO is doing what is needed. During the COVID this is the right Leadership move.
There are a lot of S bands and a few VP types in tech that don't know what they are doing at all and have between wasting money and blaming Indian Techie types for their incompetence while they gorge on steak and fine wine at Nike expense. All the old crony types will be gone in a year. It is in Nike's best Interest to outsource Tech. The Ratnakar guy is spot on and following Johns orders. Do the same thing at 1/2 the cost. Get rid of political types who are cluless
Given all of the ER complaints against The CDio, the SEC leader and a bunch of other VP’s it looks like they’re really taking matter of respect seriously lol.....but the axe is coming, be ready.
SEC! What a joke. The new CIO Ratnakar, good lord - that man is clueless...he is doing what he is comfortable doing not what is good for the company
