Jeff sent an email announcement this morning saying Macy's will reduce corporare and support headcount by 3900 and lay off people across stores.

May be others as well but there are going to be significant reductions at the director level and above. Not that unusual because M has been doing that periodically for the past decade, but this round, from what I hear, is going to be significant.

So are the captain positions key holder positions? I’ve heard they are glorified full timers. If that’s so are they on the executive schedule or are they like captains now?
