If humana is buying into kindred and the hospice agency with the two equit partners, it makes humana less likely for a takeover....home health and hospice are home based, Humana bought the home health companies last year and are providing service in home in parts of Florida and Texas. Look for jobs to be posted in the next month or so related to Medicare division and in home...I swear, you can see the direction of the company 6 months before it happens by looking at job openings...the #hcsrenewal postings were all about management and operation of home health and 6 months later, the kindred deal. While none of us can figure out our role or how we fit in, the job openings are more transparent than what we’re told

Why does the new director have to be an RN? What matters is his business background. And he’s a PT,which is really good if we’re going into home care, because PT is critical for some of these folks to stay strong at home and for the DME recommendations they can do. There is more to home care needs than nursing, and the guy has the background to to it....I don’t see how it’s a negative that he’s dismantling the program, if his job is to take us into home care...he is....and this has been going on for awhile...if you want to know where a business is headed, look at their job openings....about 6 months ago, under the #hcsrenewal they talked about, lots of jobs were posted related to home health, licensing and expansion.....so what if Aetna wanted us for the pharmacy? This is like a bad break up and having to say “he’s just not into you”....the money is to be made within homecare. It doesn’t matter he’s a PT, he has the background and skills needed, and people higher up and smarter than any of us chose him for his background and skill, and he’s not a nurse...big flipping deal....let it go. Accept the business decision. A nurse doesn’t have to supervise or run everything.
POster, the proposed acquisition has to do with certain stock conditions and two other companies, I think humana may have done layoffs since those roles weren’t needed in the new direction they’re going....they said all along pharmacy, behavioral health and in home. This is step one towards that...all the #hcsrenewal job postings were related to home health, licensure and legalities of home health. I know it’s been hotly debated here, but under a home health license, Medicare reimbursed for what LTIH does for free...I would think licensed LTIH folk would transition easily into the ho e health model, if it’s purchased. The hospice side of it would show a possible in road to palliative care, a big Medicare reimbursement area, that also involves pharmacy. But, I digress. The layoffs were because the roles or amount of people in those roles didn’t fit with the new model. It would be nice if humana just said that, vs how it’s playing out
The jobs under #hcsrenewal seem all to be geared towards the home health arena....and what I posted was told to me by someone higher than a coach
Hmmmmm
Interesting Molina is laying off and the #hcsrenewal job postings seem to be related to expansion in the home health arena, maybe humana is aquiring Molina...they got a payout for not doing the merger with Aetna, maybe they're buying a home health agency...Molina had quite a bit of ACA folks, and maybe they're in areas for humana to expand into ...
