All the sh---y middle management and Yes Ma'am MDs stub their toes every night for the next 6 months. You're all pathetic weasels.

I thought it was over

I was under the impression that everybody who was supposed to be notified in this round was already notified in the past two days. Now I'm seeing more mentions of continued layoffs. What's going on?

Is BCG targeting visa holders?

Anyone with a broad enough view / observations on the issue? Is visa/immigration status a major input into the decision making? It would make sense to be the case. But who knows.

Worth The Time at Citi Now

Those who left now, will you continue with Citi given uncertainly in future or seek other options outside market? if stay with Citi, will you take extra mile?

O'Fallon Site

Do you know if anyone got let go from the O'Fallon site?

Anyone still going into the office?

I would rather spend my lame duck period in the comfort of my own home but don’t want any issues or concerns with potential violations to the mandate. Are any of you just staying home? Especially in the ny area

To those of us let go effective 4/15

I was told I need to work until 4/15. Are any of you actually working? Weird that they didn't yank our access when they told us we're being laid off. They want us to do "handoffs." Yeah, ok.

New Role Communication

Does anyone else find the way role changes were communicated as lacking in empathy? Meeting set up by new managers, with old manager as optional. Not being informed until the meeting that your directs would be reporting elsewhere. Your directs being... — read more

Everyone at Citi is an SME

Just an observation, everyone that works at Citi claims that they're an SME. Business analysts understand Microsoft PowerPoint, not economics; developers understand copy/paste code from stack overflow; metrics owners need tech assistance for... — read more

Lousy timing

Was this timing truly necessary? They had to do layoffs so close to Easter? Why? A few weeks before or after would have worked just as well, you can't convince me otherwise. This seems like an unnecessarily cruel and/or callous move by the... — read more

Got Cut

I got cut today (Tuesday 3/26). My long-standing manager went through a formal script with me. After spending 8 months training a new resource, I was informed that my role was being eliminated (oh, what a word). I had a ton of work on my plate, there... — read more

Friendly heads-up . . .

As was reiterated in eFinancialCareers today, it is likely that most of the layoffs are yet to come. This will be a protracted process for the next 7 quarters. So the "closure" we get this week is only worth so much. I think we have to get used to... — read more

People managers becoming individual contributors

Not all 1-1 invites are layoffs

Got very little sleep last night stressed about a 1-1 scheduled. Turns out there were other participants, hidden and for all of us it was an org change. While the new role might not be what you signed up for, it’s better than a layoff

If you are trimming the useless, start with HR.

Those guys provide no value to the company at all. From them you get either no answer, busted links, a link to the FAQ which is filled with guess what…more busted links and eventually the HR chatbot. If that’s as good as its going to get you... — read more
