A colleague left his job a long time ago and still hasn't been replaced. It's a bit strange that it takes so long for Chevron to fill that position again. I don't know if the problem is in (in)efficient recruiting strategies or maybe it's something... — read more
GLINT survey... work life balance question. Already hearing, we know our results will be worse from IT leaders
I have already heard, complete the survey...we dont expect that the results are going to show any improvement. Why ask about work life balance that doesnt exist? Why add a question like will you still be here in two years. Why not check in on... — read more
CEMREC DISSOLUTION / LAYOFFS UPDATES
Any updates would be appreciated!
Layoffs in November
I've heard a rumor that there might be some layoffs in November. I personally think that's a bunch of bullcr-p but it doesn't hurt to check. Has anybody here heard anything similar or is this just another case of people who don't have enough on their... — read more
This is something everybody should remember at all times
Do remember that Human Resources today is not the old employee friendly HR of a decade or so ago. Today’s HR are the buffer and protectors of management, not the rank & file ordinary employee. High pay is given to the new HR senior staff to safeguard... — read more
Thoughts on Digital Scholars?
Let’s have a discussion about this. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the digital scholar program?
Long-term sufferers
This is not an ideal company and there are many issues that are just piling up. However, I think that there isn't any (at least not in this industry) truly altruistic company that serves its employees first. Good luck with the expectations that any... — read more
The oil and gas industry really needs to watch it when angering their talent
The industry is viewed by many and no better than the cigarette industry so treating their employees poorly is not going to help retain or attract talent.thr younger generations especially don't care for the industry. They need to check the arrogant... — read more
HR PSG’s too high
I got a glimpse of several of the HR postings and I was amazed at how many 26-27 jobs they have. HR should peak at about 24 for a GM, they don’t have any technical skills and are the least efficient organization in the company. I guess when you are... — read more
Attrition: Exxon Culture vs. Chevron Culture
Daily Mail is horse m4nur3, but this article so reminded me of CVX and the attrition trends and general decline in our company culture. Exxon boss snapped at employees during virtual town hall and told them to 'work for Amazon' if they were unhappy... — read more

Thoughts? Too little too late?
So far I've spent 10hrs of company time this month dealing with our Anthem Blue Cross Flex Spending provider.
I can't believe we're are still purchasing services from this abysmal Flex Spending provider . I never had a problem with the old Health Matters provider. Every month with Anthem is another 2-3hrs to fight over using my own money. Insane.
Attrition at Chevron compared to competitors
Some say that after leaving here they would not return unless they were in dire straits. Still others, despite everything, think that it is much better here than at most direct competitors. Everyone has their priorities. I am interested in whether... — read more
Getting promoted to the same salary
A colleague of mine left because he no longer wanted to do additional work for the same salary. I'm interested in what you think, should a person accept a promotion without a raise? However, as much as the idea of getting a promotion without... — read more
Retirement Restoration Plan
When I look at my 401k in my online Fidelity profile, I see another entry for "Chevron Retirement Restoration Account" with a nice chunk of change. What is this? How did I get it? Can I manage how the money is invested? How is it taxed?

New Leadership Roll

Are new hires getting paid more than existing employees?
Some say yes and I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone who was just hired earns more than an employee who has been loyal and dedicated to Chevron for years. However, I still refuse to believe that this is true... Perhaps it's true for very rare... — read more
Is anybody else constantly getting more work added to their plate?

The factory model is progressing in sprints and there is now talk of how the org looks to support this new model. The question is how long it takes for Chevron to execute this. Any thoughts?
Chevron is not a good employer
