Are they going to discontinue it?
This ROM process has been transparent, fair, and generous
I'm approaching my 15th year with the company supporting upstream operations. I have always been treated fairly, the work has been challenging, I have progressed according to my career development plan, and all of my supervisors have embraced the... — read more
John Watson should be ashamed of himself
Everyone knows how Spain is bankrupt and just like Prince Felipe had to sold his £8 m yatch in solidarity to the country's economic horror. Mr. Watson should take a cut on all his earnings. The guy is putting in his pocket $1.5 M in salary FOR WHAT?... — read more
Forecasting the state of Chevron on Dec 31, 2015
The way things are going at this point, I see Chevron's stock price on Dec 31 between $68 and $71. WTI/Brent will be around $39/$43. The dividend reduced after the 3Q Earnings Report, Gorgon delayed into 1Q 2017, Wheatstone put on hold until gas... — read more
Chevron has the Enron Curse.
Kenneth Lay couldn't have done a better job himself with incompetent boobs to run a company.
We should send John Watson our thoughts of the condition of our present-day company with the top 3 challenges.
We should send John Watson our thoughts of the condition of our present-day company, with the top 3 challenges and a short paragraph of the solution we propose would fix it. This company can only be fixed from the top down, not from the middle out... — read more
Another CVX f***up Gorgon
So the latest info on Gorgon is first gas will be pushed back in 2016 mid or late year. What do you call that? Execution at its best? Just got off the phone with some of my mates in ABU. Not formally announced yet but it will be soon. Keep an eye on... — read more
Thankful to be a Chevron Employee
I am amazed at the number of people that complain about working for Chevron. Yes- you need to leave if you are unhappy. I have been blessed to work for many years with such a fine company. Never worked for a boss that I did not like or respect. My... — read more
Is downstream as broke as upstream.
We have a few downstream people on my team and they are smart, nice and work hard. I would imagine downstream is struggling some what for the top leadership incompetence. To come into this mess from anywhere else is a total shock to the person. They... — read more
Chevron is nothing but a scam
Chevron is keeping long time management and those employee who are simply STUPID at their jobs and laying off the good contractors who work hard. On my PMP I got a 1 for some HARD work and still didn't make the cut. I know some individuals who's PMP... — read more
Wheatstone is in more trouble than Gorgon imo.
I am rotating out of Wheatstone and it is a disaster. We did not plan or understand work flow and the modules have arrived late and laydown yards are being built to accommodate a "rush" to get things built. Bechtel who is the main contractor has told... — read more
Layoff benefits
Talked to my friend at Shell they said they are seeing people get 30 to 45 days at the office after notice before layoff and then 30 days pay after layoff. From rumors I gear it does not sound like chevron is going to get anywhere close to that.
Chevron is such a TOXIC place and always been
This ROM brings the best out of our management. Incompetent management has been allowed to stay for so long that is not even in the ROM play to fire them or else. Management gets moved, not fired. Same incompetent management is making all the deals... — read more
Chevron vs BP (or, other "majors"): Chatter on this forum
I have been lurking around on this forum, and I have noticed how Chevron seems to be the most active area with tons of chatter around the layoffs. I work for BP so I am a little confused as to what is the major difference people on BP topic aren't... — read more
Two weeks notice???
I have received a job offer outside of Chevron. I am an hourly employee that isn't willing to sit around and wait to get canned. Should I give my two weeks notice? My concern is that my supervisor is vindictive as all get out and if I give my notice... — read more

BCG asked me to be confidential about structuring furloughs for my team
So I am being very confidential and posting it here....shhhhhhhh don't tell anybody. Now only at Chevron does a consultant ask how do you furlough your group not a company manager. Should we do 14 on and 14 off (with no pay). 28 and 28 of 3 month on... — read more

EOI
Has anyone tried the EOI towards a BU RAE yet? I'm wondering what the response is, if it helped or hurt your position. I did something similar several years ago at a large corporation and they assumed I was going to quit so they just waited me out.
REA notice wtf?
Why are they waiting till August 10 to notify those who got REA letters whether or not they are being terminated for so-called under-underperformance? Isnt the workplace at Chevron toxic enough without making people sweat it further? It seems clear... — read more

Do u think management will tell their admins to watch employees
Do u think managers will tell the admins to watch employees r contractors to find out if they r coming to work on time or leaving early? Do u feel like u r being watched?
Can someone answer?
Why hasn't Chevron asked for a Voluntary Reduction in Force( VRiF) instead of random selection of those who they deem non-essential? Maybe they cant afford it-how sad.

what the world needs now is...
In order to soar like eagles, we must first get rid of the turkeys. Chevron is full of middle management folks who shuffle emails instead of doing actual work. Lean and mean companies do not need them. The future is bright for those who have skills.
Gorgon online by early 2016. Three more quarters of write-downs is going to be painful.

Appalling --- John Watson was not present at the Earnings Conference Call on July 31.
It really is appalling to me that John Watson did not attend the 2Q 2015 Chevron Earnings Conference Call on July 31. This was Chevron's worst quarter in 13 long years, and our CEO didn't have the guts to be there to take questions from the analysts... — read more

Are Chevron people employable?
