The Big 3 and their Sales and Marketing Spend

ATT, VZ, and TMUS spend a boatload year in and year out on acquisition cost just to add 1-3% to their Postpaid Subscriber Base with much of that being low ARPU connected devices. With TDS/USM there are 4.3M prime postpaid subscribers with $50+ ARPU's... — read more

If you are a C & E Engineer affected by Layoffs..

Look into employment by the contract firm that renders our engineering drawings. They usually can hold you over if you need something immediately. T is known to bring back employees previously surplused, at times, so you may be called back in... — read more

GES Surplus-Leggio Org

I was one of the lucky folks impacted by the surplus in Tony Leggio's org. I shouldn't be surprised my boss never liked me. This is one of those hard learning lessons that if you have a supervisor that clearly doesn't like you, leave when you have... — read more

Are we safe?

If you have heard nothing by now and don't have a meeting invite (for just yourself), you're probably OK for now. Is this true? I'd love to be able to relax for the rest of the day but something tells me this sounds a bit too good to be true. If... — read more

Anyone know if morning call was impacted group or the "safe" group? Hearing nothing but crickets here and it's a bit unnerving.

I was told that I'm history.

C&E Engineer, 21 years in, not a ringer. What now? Guess I'll have to pick up the pieces. Already know jobs, good jobs, are few and far between. I think I'll go out and get drunk.

They are totally disconnected

It's so annoying to hear the higher ups talk about the culture here. I mean, how do they expect to have a great culture if we have to constantly worry about getting cut? Me and my colleagues are extremely anxious about whether we will be left without... — read more

Cost of a completely disengaged workforce

As I clicked past insider this AM, I noted the "Relive the Rally and be inspired by our Purpose" nonsense posted up there. I did not, and will not watch it. As it would seem most don't. It has 23 "thumbs up" clicks on it. Twenty three. 23 out of... — read more

What would you do? AM will expect transition

Im talking about this friday. If you got surplused, then your AM will expect for a transition. I guess me, ill take all my vacation until the 3rd. I really don't care about the 6 days payment conversion from March to December.

Friday is doom day

Impacted people will be notified this Friday. The layoff was communicated to employees few months back. This reminds me of the Netflix show squid game. It has been the story of my journey at AT&T. Watching people getting laid off left and right... — read more

4 weeks from today

Per our CWA/Leg T contract, the next "announcement date" is March 15th and some of us expect to likely be laid off due to automation and shifting of work to cheaper labor. While it's unfortunate for workers who want/need their job, many of us are... — read more

I think I'm about to be laid off

That TDS will get bought out well north of $20+ per share by one of the big 3. Cricket, Metro PCS, Voicestream, ATT Wireless....the struggling operators always get bought for a good premium.

8 out of 10 telecommuters are overemployed.

I thought it was just me, now it's confirmed 8 out of 10 telecommuters are overemployed. There is no doubt the money is great, I make $165K at at&t, and make $155K at my other company. What is really strange is that I feel like I could take on... — read more
