Do you think the mortgage side might be affected in the first quarter of 2015? I hear that many of our competitors are gearing for more layoffs as the business on the mortgage side seems to be even slower than in the first half of 2014. I know that Wells Fargo typicaly moves quickly here and I am very concerned that we might have layoffs again. Someone mentioned potential layoffs around 2/1/2015 but I am not sure who is the source and why February 2015 (and not April or something like that).

We all know how Trickle Down Economics works and they're laying people off...so Clearly they need another Bailout...Sure all the Money will skip right over the Economy entirely and Land in somebody's Money Bin until they want to buy a European Super Car. We here in america will simply see it all as devaluation of the dollar, And lose our homes...but isn't that how trickle down economics works?
It can be any other year, we always have layoffs. There is nothing happening right now.
Our mortgage business is not doing well and there will be more cuts in 2015 on that side of business. Also, we always look on the retail side who's making money and who's lagging, so if you are underpreforming you can expect that Wells Fargo management will notice that and will make cuts. I am not sure how you know that we'll have cuts in Feb 2015 but I think this is unlikely
