I heard that So Cal might be affected in Q1 2015, also cuts in Seattle and the Bay Area. Again, this is just rumors for now, I hope all will be fine but wanted to share what I heard.

I, a soon to be former employee and member of management of AT&T, was notified on March 2nd with a last day of employment being the 31st of March. I too am supposed to train my fellow employees taking over my job. From what I see, its is in the hundreds.
Layoffs just happened within AT&T Wireless in Georgia. Over 130 (management included) were given a 60 day notice. Most of the contractors have been laid off, as well as (US based) international Customer Service. Some departments are being moved to other states and the current people aren't being given the option to move, just told to train the people taking over their positions. Many friends in the company are talking about it.
They are laying off in Seattle, Cerritos, and not sure where else. My husband is one of many who received shocking walking papers. They do it in small batches so that it doesn't reach the news or get widely publicized period.
Verizon Wireless had layoffs today (1/30/2015) - it was bad - hundreds were let go
I do not think anyone in Seattle has been let go in decades, that area is kind of sacred
What groups will be affected - do you know who (in Seattle) might be let go?
