Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WF Mandatory Arbitration for Employee Disputes

Offer letters state in the event of employee disputes with the company it needs to go into private mandatory arbitration, which is the same agreement if a customer has a fake account opened for them by Wells Fargo Bank.

If you live in CA you have up to 30 days after signing to opt out. Otherwise, if you are harassed or retaliated against you can't sue in a court of law but end up in a kangaroo court outside of the legal jurisdiction.

They should teach this starting in elementary school....

"The company's Human Resources Department exists solely to protect the company and its shareholders. HR is not your friend".

Negotiate that away. Employees that have been with WF for some time are subject to that require so you should be able to negotiate it away. It’s also not market. If WF insist on that provision, seriously consider if you want to work for a company that would treat its new employees that way. Remember this company isn’t ethical or about doing what’s right for the employee or customer. It’s all about how much can we make for the shareholder.

I agree you should always ask the HR person that sent you the offer letter the option to opt out and the timeline and procedure to do so.

God forbid you will be harassed but it's very common at Splunk and other companies and when it happens you have to protect yourselves from them harming you.

It's an upside down universe we live in HR is not your friend but rather your enemy. If you go to them they now know who they can retaliate against which is you.

So true. Those that recommend going to HR are id--ts. I'm stunned that WF team members actually believe HR will help them.

Use your head. Why would a company that commits fraud on customers not commit abuses on employees?

I worked in HR until recently (resigned to accept job at humane company) and could share countless horror stories that occurred while at WF.

NEVER call HR. You are putting a noose around your neck.

Such an awful company.

Never call the ethics hotline or go to HR because they will attack and retaliate against you. HR is to protect the management who are proxies of the company and not the worker bees.
