Probably about ten of my friends
But I did not see any prem tech aka wire tech on the list smh getting rid of the best and brightest for the cheapest and badly trained!

What are they supposed to do? They don't run the company. If the company wants to ultimately reduce headcount there is nothing they can do. They can't force a company to keep or hire people they don't need or want. They can try to protect benefits for the ones who remain, but the higher they make the benefits the quicker the company will want to reduce headcount anyway. Unless the government changes trade practices (cost of labor), or makes it illegal to lay people off (socialist) they have no power. Soon as you do those things the corporations and economy will suffer, and lay more people off anyway.
Yep!!!--- CWA 3204 --- The one that covers the BIG city of Atlanta and metro Atlanta area. STILL has not even posted the "surplus list". But there are a lot of pictures of the Prez and his entourage.

@pqb why in the world am i getting my surplus info off TheLayoff dot com instead of CWA's site? Really? A bunch of random characters on this site sharing stats, dissecting what's going on, trying to piece things together... And CWA has all this info - you look at every district they share random photos of office luncheons, etc. Nobody cares about this.
I want them to FIGHT for me and inform me, I want them to be all over this thing. Somehow they never mess up when they deduct money from my paycheck, they do that fairly wall and with diligence/accuracy.
Give me my dues back and I'll donate it Red Cross and this website... I'd do more good that way...
@pbq no one expects union's to change the world anymore. But the CWA could at least try to do something for their members. Anything at all. Something more than absolutely nothing.
The main goal of any union should be protecting our jobs. All they care about is the $$. 2 of my friends got the ax last year in the SE. They choose to take their severance over 6 months for tax reasons. The CWA took dues out of their checks even though they had turned in their badges and equipment and were sitting at home. SMH

Thanks to the OP. Took a night class HVAC course at a Vo-Tech several years back. Did it for personal gain and to fix friends HVAC.

21 switch techs from legacy T in NJ just got notice 30 min ago
about a 30% hit for us, good people and really smart people being laid off, including my man who got a top 1% award. Union life, where the most of the senior people do sh-- and top techs get laid off because they were hired 3 months after the pieces of c-ap were
everyone knew layoffs, doesnt make me any less salty that losing some incredible trouble shooters and friends from the past 20 years
