I was ready to retire when the work my group went away. They didn't institute a layoff - people just came in and hung around. I said, darn, this is the job I've trained for all my life, I ain't retiring.
About a year later, they found some work, and I retired. 😛
My AM who polished a seat in Atlanta once complained to me that there are too many people shopping during working hours, and always on the phone conducting personal business.
what a joke - can you say brain dead. nothing but but a bunch of vps and director in ego contests while the minions go brain dead. good way to run a company.
we have been reworking the same projects for over 5 years. no $ to do the work, so we slim it down and try to push it thru the process....but still doesnt get approved. work on fake projects stay busy get paid
Tech Dev, under ATO is going through the annual mid-year shutdown. We'll spin up again when the dust settles.
I hear a bunch of project managers where let go on June 2 some in Hoover Al.
What about ATO staff sitting around doing nothing, but taking vacations? How long they going to keep that up?
many teams pretending doung work. many 99.9% of Bus Sol pricing requests going nowhere, no revenue is generated just sitting playing with inventory sites, cash cow is not more
@rfn... mobility must have plenty of money on hand because they don't appear to be spending it on new towers....cell service $ucks....almost not a day goes by someone doesn't come up to my wireline truck and complain to me about it.... And yes, we have used the mark the spot app...also went to the mall and talked to santa Claus and the Easter Bunny about it also, neither of the 3 seem to work. Really disappointing, would have thought St Nick could have helped out.
I've not seen sitting around with nothing to do, but I have seen the no budget low budget
You must be on the wireline side... mobility has so much money we can’t spend it fast enough. Good luck to you and would agree, you might want to start looking.
.... that is what happens when the work days up...
wow! you have been able to hang on for 5yrs, while doing nothing? you might think about finding another job.
