Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

How valued do you feel at Verizon?

Is there anybody left who feels valued by the company? Who thinks that what they do really matters in the grand scheme of things and is noticed by those on top?

I'm honestly curious.

No stickers, other than the company-provided reflective ones that come already affixed with the helmet, are allowed. If you were truly in one of the two telco Unions that operate here, rather than an uninformed troll, you would know that.

The union thinks I am valuable. They gave me a cool sticker for my helmet! I put it on the side next to my flag sticker.

I'm one of the sh-tty older people taking the VSP and honestly I really haven't done a heck of a lot over the last 6 months. I book OT for anything outside of 9-5 M-F and I read Reddit the rest of the time. They decided to keep me prisoner long after I told them I wanted to leave so I'm gonna break rocks as slowly as possible.

But thanks for the free training I've soaked up.

Believe me, they’ll know you where valuable now they’ve no talent left. Every single person that was a position where they could leave has left. Sinking ship. Clueless shady leadership and a nightmare culture.

I feel loved and cherished. Every two weeks when I check my bank account, rainbows, unicorns, and carnations flutter about. Big red is like a loving mother who keeps the monsters away and tells me everything will always be ok. I have never felt so loved, needed, or valued as I do today. Long live wireline, long live our beautiful and supportive union and the brotherhood and sisterhood that goes with it. I love you Hans. You’ll always be my boo. And, if you’re reading this, I love you too. 2 . OOH YEAH!!

31 years in the company and I have not felt 'valued' in 27 of those years. Once GTE took over and then merged with BA it has been all down hill.

No complaints. The pay and benefits have been excellent but I am here for the money and not any personal satisfaction. Perhaps I would have been happier if I had left Contel years ago but I would have jumped from one telecom frying pan into another telecom frying pan.

My value comes in the weekly pay check.

Vz pitted wireless against wireline from the start and really tried to break the wireline union, when they failed they went after there wireless employees..so that right there tells you how they value YOU...they take care of their employees like family...the adams family where everybody is a monster to them....
