Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

att billing

can't wait to be free of att and their billing practices after this month.

their billing practices should seriously be investigated by the attorney general.

@1wvb, gee ya got me! Paper Lion was a sports comedy book by George Plimpton, circa 1960s.....Think you will make a fairly good fact checker for CNN there bud! All totally mondaine corrections are always appreciated.

ATT charges taxes and fees. They pretend the fees are mandated by the government, just like shady car dealers try to sneak in a document prep fee. Might as well charge me a fee for using the A/C in the building instead of rolling it into the overall business costs.

@skq, sorry you took exception to my post, I was merely stating a fact as I viewed it, perhaps with too much passion, perhaps not! That said, most people on these Threads do feel they have a grievance, right or wrong, but choose to give meaningless airtime and don’t act on their convictions where it counts.

The poster I opposed was calling for the AG to come in but takes no action on their own convictions, I called this person out. Just like a politician that you want to win but don’t get out to vote for.....he was a “Paper Lion.”

Last point, you said “I guess you want to work for a lying, deceitful company and not to try to make it better.” My job is to work for my family and their needs, I do my job and the T’s shortcomings are of a secondary concern.......and if you can point out a company that’s 100% squeaky clean, I'm listening!

Consumer billing has been a mess with no one doing a good job of reviewing those billing cycles. An incompetent landline AVP had no clue how to run that organization

As a tech, I've heard this from customers and family.

Lesson to be learned... “.... never agree to Autopay...” yes the convenience is there but if you have a discrepancy with the total it becomes a problem....

@uoz. Still employed and that is a great idea of a letter. If they treat there own employees this way I can only imagine how the treat their customers. I guess you want work for a lying deceitful company and not to try to make it better. You must work for asset management.

OP Post ID: @Ztdi840-xjf “...over $1,000 out of their bank account(s) via auto-pay.”

Thank you for sharing that information. Many companies offer all of these incentives if you sign up for auto-pay. Your post just goes to show that T is not honest and when they get their claws on YOUR money, they keep it and hold it as credit. A similar situation happened to me where T held my overpayment funds and refused to return the money to me.

T just raised the monthly cost on my 6Mbps home internet service. If they continue to increase the cost anytime this year, I am prepared to contract with another provider for a lot more service for a lot less money.

The only problem I’ve ever had was when i was lied to and misquoted, some how the IHX rep ”forgot” 🙄 to disclose all the hidden fees, thus my high Bill. Luckily My old carrier buys you out of an existing contract.. rather pay a high bill knowing before hand than one that i was scammed into...

I personally know 3 people that DirecTV accidentally’d over $1,000 out of their bank account(s) via auto-pay. The solution offered to each (all three in diff markets of the country) was “we can apply it as a credit.”

Just saying, anecdotes go both ways.

I get an email saying that a certain amount will be withdrawn from my bank on a certain day.

The amount is what I think it should be. The withdrawal is on the day it's supposed to be.

No problem found. I never log onto the website to view my bill, because the amount is correct.

Those that scream the loudest about billing practices are usually surplussed, Ex AT&T’s. Some might have a grievance, most just want revenge for being shown the door. This board is their only way to get it.

If you think the AG needs to be called in, pick up the phone and get it done, send an email, write a letter....talk is very cheap!

My AT&T bills have always been consistent. I do not understand the problems that some people seem to have with their bills.
