Way back, Directors managed their teams as needed. If conflicting priorities occurred the Director could set priorities and set aside the lesser important priority. Now, and as it's been for quite a while, Directors are messengers delivering everything leadership says with no power to run their orgs. They are reduced to keeping the budgets in line, outsourcing, and insuring layoffs occur. That's the reality.

What would be the point? The company cares almost as little about my supervisor's opinion/input as they care about those in the crew doing the work on a daily basis.

Waiting until I hit “rule of 75” before I try to interrupt my bosses endless stream of counterproductive directives.

No, don’t want anything used against me. Depends what the feedback is on....

No, my concern is above him and all he'd say is "needs of the business" or "thats how the leadership wants it now" What happens to do your job wherever as long as u do the job?

He's a L2 and I'm a L2. We have exactly the same amount of power to affect any changes, which is to say ZERO. No use in complaining.

How can I answer this without making the surplus list?

My boss has same concerns I do. And can’t do a dang thing to change it. So nope. Cuz what’s the point?

Mine keeps saying " I do not care." So as it turns out, I do not care either.

Depends on what level of supervisor your referring to...at some point they just don't care. VP and above they don't want the feedback because then they might actually have to do something which would require work.

I never talk to my boss because he has absolutely no idea what I do for a living. His main concern is that we lie and cheat as much as possible to get his numbers up so that he can get a bigger bonus.

I used to have a sup that I could say anything and not fear any repercussions. Not any longer. I don't have the same level of trust I used to have (and miss!).
