Does anyone have any insight as to whether the temporary OPTs are included in the leaked email of 433 affected?

Temporary C&E technicians do not count toward the 'surplus' numbers that were leaked. The temps will be terminated first, and the surplus of permanent technicians begins. This is the reason T is terminating the temp technicians before 6/15, which is when 3rd qtr surplus announcements occur per the contract. It will be interesting to see how close the actual surplus numbers are to what was leaked months ago, and which districts will be hit the hardest. Some have stated that the actual numbers will be higher that what was leaked, which would not surprise me.
There are so many conflicting reports as far as temps and upcoming surplus in regards to district vs. state. vs exchange area. when they can and cant. Who knows.
I was surplused from DEG and bumped an ST. I’m back to ws32 now. It takes time to adjust and you have to wait it out. Take any thing but ST or wire tech if you can.
We are all temporary employees now. Temporary for 3-6 months at a time until the last man standing.
Damn reading that paints a picture of crabs in a bucket....how can there be solidarity with that mentality. This is coming from a a pro-union “management” guy (management in name only.,..an engineer who works for a living).
You can be bumped even if there are temps in your area. Although they can’t surplus an OPT position from an exchange if there are temps on payroll, a permanent tech can be bumped while the temp/term keeps their job. For example, if they have have a surplus in Macon, GA, then that tech could bump a permanent tech in an exchange where a surplus hasn’t been declared, e.g. Atlanta, and the temps in Atlanta would stay employed while permanent techs in Atlanta would be at risk.
And they can’t have a surplus in an area if opt/ft temps are currently employed, not sure if they can announce in one area and force bumping to another if temps are there also.
The temps do not count towards the surplus number. There are/were nearly 360 temp OPT’s and FT in the Southeast, but they are not figured into the permanent headcount or surplus numbers.
