Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is anybody safe here?

I thought people with seniority were being laid off due to higher pay and benefits, and then we lose a guy who's been here for I think a year - if that long!

I don't get it, why even hire people if you plan to get rid of them so quickly?

This just goes to confirm my longstanding suspicion - nobody is safe here anymore.

No. Nobody is safe. The CEO is not safe. The lowliest employee is not safe. This ship has hit an iceberg called fraud and nobody has a life vest

There is no such thing as seniority anymore because America allowed greedy companies to k--l off unions.

Seniority was good for America, because it meant you kept your job, paid into a retirement plan, bought a house, raised a family, paid your taxes, took a vacation every now and then and then retired.

Shareholder supremacy replaced family values, American values, and community values, with a nasty form of capitalism that only cares about shareholders, not people.

And that's what k--led seniority, and sent millions of jobs overseas.

That concludes today's history lesson.

I hope I get let go soon.

There is no such thing as 'seniority' at USA's companies anymore. That is an expired like 1950's-1960's thing of the past where employees with the most experience at the company were valued the most and were thus the last to be laid off. This should still be a value at USA companies today. There are many long term employees who's knowledge and experience with the company can probably not be replaced for a really long time by some new employee. It is a really high impact on a company when a long time, most experienced person leaves the company for some reason. Then the "newbies" who take their place get fired because they cannot do the job without the mentoring and training from the long term employee who is now gone, gone and so is all of that accumulated knowledge.

Dead wood is rampant within WFS. There are tri-heads of the business. How many organizations that are effective have Co-heads? How many have Tri-heads? Just make the right decision. Let go of the dead wood and promote the young stars. Senator Warren should be clamoring for more change than turnover at the top post. The entire senior team of management at WFS needs to be rinsed out, start with those at the top of the totem poll in Charlotte. Rob, Walter, Lisa, Ben, Dan; then move onward to NY... then London, etc. Keep the mid tier professionals and the young kids...

No need to attack one another.

Who hired the guy? Is that person still there? Did he step on toes? Did he make the wrong person look stupid? And most important of all-did he kiss the right rear ends?

Performance is incidental. It’s all about perception.

People with seniority are what I refer to as unmotivated dead weight. Time for them to go.

That’s WF planning. Once you pull the curtain back, you find out there’s no plan
