IT executives have promoted people who are "yes" people. They don't know how to think for themselves and won't disagree when there are better ways to manage the work. The executives are happy but the important work is not being done. Instead it is powerpoints, security fixes/reviews and useless meetings. No proper prioritization and no manager/director to argue what is important. Everything is "urgent", "top priority". So the developers/testers/admins doing the real work are constantly jumping from one task to another. Very little is getting done and the code that is being written is creating a maintenance nightmare that will cripple Verizon IT and the Business for years to come. Exec's don't care, they get their bonuses regardless.
Chill it’s friday.
No one with a brain is worrying about IT. It’s all a joke , the smart ones left . What will be left of IT in two years, just some GTS signs and VPs and SVPs 🤢
How about IT fixes the f---ing constant need to login and change passwords? Or making forms consistent across the spectrum, like broken links in the OSTs, or the occasional need to use ( xxx) - xxx-xxxx but then sometimes won't allow us to use anything but xxxxxxxx
IT is a f---ing joke. The only thing that got better was AYS.
Even worse the shank has the Big three producing ppt’s for he and blood brother VG. Then other team develops the talk points. What are these people needed?? Any 🐵 or 🐍 can speak the points
Yes! PowerPoints and town hall calls, kick off calls, and staff meeting calls. All so we can talk about we would be working on... if only we didn't have to sit on all their pointless calls. No one is paying attention on these calls...at least not those of us with actual work (i.e. peons). Making all those dollars to go over decks with captive audience who isn't listening...what a sham.
But that is all they do in HQ Finance all day and even make it into OT time. PowerPoint the useless tool for keeping busy.
One of the aspects of merging Wireless and Wireline IT (OK, it wasn't a merger but a hostile takeover), was discovering how much time was spent by wireline directors comparing the size of their deck.
Yes, you can take that another way if you like. Still applies.
That's a result of the high price consultants they hired to help transform the company aka 2 dot oh.
Verizon is one big powerpoint factory. Always has been, always will be.
Yeah who the hack owns that POS... doesn’t work half the time and customers blame us
The title says it all POS (Piece Of S**t)
And in the stores the POS system constantly crashes and receipts won’t print half the time.
PowerPointless
Straight forward. We outsourced the work and only people left do only .ppt and VPs just talk about decks.
