Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Why does everyone think that people who have 25+ years with the company are old and rich at T? Seriously, I still have little kids to raise and put through college. Some us were young when we started, have 25 years and aren’t even close to retirement age yet. Tired of hearing about the old people with 25 years seniority need to take their old asses and leave.

Most craft lay offs ate according to seniority. In my group we have a lot of folks with 25+ years who have that "I'm untouchable" attitude. They take lots of FMLA and sick time. The techs with less seniority and families get the ax. Seniority is the only thing that matters,, if you have it, you can be "deadwood" all day long.

So you threw a party to celebrate your fellow techs getting surplussed? Remember this is AT&T, you are one phone call or email away from the same fate. Karma is real

The OP's group was lucky. Many groups I've seen that were hit lost their experienced and skilled workers while a lot of the deadwood remained.
