Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VSP - unemployment lawsuit

VSP for wireline mgmt employees was announced with leadership claiming 5G was the future. There was also a threat that if you don’t take the package then you are at risk of lower/standard severance if Verizon decides to lay you off. An argument can be made, and it will stand in court, that employees had no choice but to take the package.

Unemployment is approved for VSPrs that we’re released in December and March because the company released them prior to those in June. They had no say in the matter so unemployment is for those that were released.

The V stands for Voluntary. You would still have a job if you did not push the button. Expect to stand behind your desicion. Unemployment is not for those who choose to go. That's why it was 3 weeks and not 2.

VSP was a disaster. VZ-post VSP is a disaster. The thought of coming back as contractors after 6 months always struck me as odd. What about re-badged employees?? I'm certain VSPers will disperse, join new companies that will consider outsourcing back to VZ. What is the language around this?

Flat-line revenue will get you no where with the board of directors. There is NO growth in wireline and you'll start to see parts of the business sold off. Starting with enterprise.

Respectfully worst least thought out response ever. Really let’s Id the people who don’t want to be part of the 4th industrial revaluation, who don’t want to be of what way be the greatest evolution of the company. Are you implying 2.0 would painful and ID those people who can’t endure the pain and toss those people out ? What is your point ?? Most people would love to be part of this next gen opportunity... explain yourself

BS on this. Hans and his homies wanted to know who was committed to the company and his vision for Verizon 2.0, and who wasn't. Those that were no longer interested in sticking around were well-compensated but told they can never come home again. Sounds more like buyers, or rather sellers remorse to me.
