It is last in first out. Surplus by garage then bumping lowest seniority techs.

It isn't just IBEW. CWA lost the "surplus by garage"arbitration case against the company as well.

IBEW and other so called unions are the sewer scum of society. They claim they're helping workers when all the do is stick their slimy, corrupt, crooked little fingers into the workers' wallets and steal their pay to pad their own bank accounts! Unnionis are just another form of corporation and their execs are paid exorbitant salaries from where? Workers' dues!!!! I was a past member of two different unions, Bricklayers and ALPA. Neither did a damn thing for me other than taking a big portion of my pay to keep my gear from being stolen or vandalized because, if I hadn't joined their criminal, corrupt thug unions, I would not be allowed to work and if I did manage to get a job, there would be hell to pay for not being a 'member". Now, tell me, who are the fascists and socialists if I can't get a job without joining a union. Time for unions to go the way of the Ice Age. Buh bye!

Isn't the president of 21 from the Orland park garage?

The Orland Park garage is under a separate contract

The results of voting "yes" to a poor contract . Don't blame ATT for a loss of jobs due to technology and productivity improvements. ATT has been quite frank that lay offs were coming for some years. The membership failed to send thier leadership back to the table to bargain to correct the puny Seperation packages. We are now watching CWA to see if thier membership can force thier Union leadership to head back to the bargaining table. Seperation should be at least a year's pay.

You should ask the chief steward out of the Orland park garage, How it worked out for him!

The union’s attitude is “oh well, the company F’d us, it’s the best we can do.” The same Union that accepted the terrible surplus language when they “negotiated” the “best deal” they could get at contract time.

If you were to ask one the mighty mighty union reps why this is happening, they'd blame Trump. If I were you, I'd be filing a unfair labor practice complaint with the department of labor.

I'm sorry to hear this . Where is this at, cause I know downstate our business rep is a pos..and only cares what's best for him and not us .. he always side with managers and the area manager.. I think they all are in bed together..union doesn't care about us .. they only care about our dues..

The union F up, and allowed ATT to surplus based on garage. To make it honest all techs should be pooled into one big list. And the surplus should start from the bottom up. How is it fair for a 20yr old tech to loose his job when 3 blocka away in another garage a 4yr old tech keeps his?

Ask the business rep if he is at risk

In the real world the strong survive... as it should be. Anyone weak and insecure enough to put their trust in a union deserves to be axed.

We should be pushing for first in last out as the only acceptable answer.
