U-verse tv on fiber works great!.... they should improve that version and go forward with that offer it in 4K and future options would be the best move you can’t beat a hardwired fiber connection!!

I wouldn’t say DIRECTV is so superior to U-verse tv....the guide s—s it’s super slow and antiquated....picture quality is a tiny bit better than U-verse I just don’t see it being so superior I would rather stream than go DIRECTV route & have the big ugly dish on my house....With external coax wires running all over the place! Also 4K programming on direct is so limited it’s not worth doing it.....I’m fiber to the prem so U-verse TV doesn’t take up any of my bandwidth I can get whatever speed I want!!
@ZZbO9W0-1lmb Maybe your dish was misaligned but I don’t have any problems with Directv service in heavy thunderstorms and even heavy snow.
I’d much rather I’m have 75mbps Internet service and DirecTV than slower internet service because Uverse TV is gobbling up bandwidth.

Agreed on the picture quality front ... but considering service .. blockiness and outage during rain. Make U-verse better

Consider EAS. U-verse is way way better
Consider CC. Directv has blotchy fonts. U-verse fonts are selectable by the user. Way better.

U-VERSE has high overheads ( a server d server VHO etc) Limited reach So cost per sub compared to satellite is high.
Directv has a ugly dish. Which looks like a big fat pimple on a face.
U-verse could be better especially for fttp customers but it’s pretty much just being maintained as is. Arris makes 4K mediaroom compatible set top boxes and some iptv providers that use the same platform we do have 4K.
Uverse TV is the equivalent of having a Dreamcast in a world of the PS4 Pro. Yea it was cool and works but Direct TV is light years on the feature list and tech and also the next OTT streaming product. Very dated
Uverse tv is technically inferior to direct tv in every way possible. Had both would never do it again because it’s a severely dated product. Firmware wise it’s gotten zero attention. Severely dated and will eventually he removed.

No. It dwindled because T made a huge push along with incentives to migrate customers to DTV and it was pretty successful. That also freed up Internet bandwidth to sell higher speeds in metro areas.
Fiber is pennies on the dollar compared to copper.
Uverse is fiber fed vrads and copper out.....forget about its over Johnny
Picture quality was poor at ~5Mbps and some of the high value channels such as Starz, HBO, CineMax usually employ superior compression schemes that don't transcode well and the artifacts ( effect of interlaced - progressive or vice versa or thin horizontal lines cause flashing) ... most of UVERSE channels are basically old recycled junk with a lot of useless commercials.....
Can't imagine anyone paying 50$ for the service when 15$ gets them Netflix, Amazon prime w/o commercials ....

4G works pretty good right now. Few times due to storm passing through have pulled up DTV on my tablet and no problems. Just much more limited channel selection. They could probably expand that selection but don’t want that password passed around to 50 people.
Way too expensive to take fiber to the house!! 5G is the savior of everything!

Won’t happen. T is a wireless connection company and they want everything wireless. They only did fiber because the government made it be part of the deal. I wish it would but I switched my U-verse to spectrum and will be switching to their wireless soon.
