D4 is getting ripped apart.
After the next prem tech surplus management will be reduce to 1 per 45 to 50 techs. Managers will now have a mix of Inr and prem techs.
T is also planning to close several garages with fewer techs and either force them to another bigger garage or let them home garage.
There is no intention of slowing down after this contract is voted in and in fact my boss is acting like he already knows it’s getting voted in.

Don’t blame AT&T for copper’s demise. It s---s to be in a dying business, one that had a monopoly. This is what a competive business looks like....like it or not.
i heard 45 techs per manager as well. In our SE area, beginning of year we had 50+ prem techs between 2 yards and 4 managers.
Now, around 45+/- prem techs and 2 managers. Rumors of more cuts by Sept and garage relocations.
We have guys on loan and projects.
They are subverting the union. First net is a whole new network and they will build off of that and go the in home expert route and hire non union “managers” to work it.

They are doing the same in D3. Closing/selling off many sites and not leasing them back , forcing everyone who used to vpn in to come to the remaining offices. Laying off managers. They’re doing this on an international level too. I just got off the phone with an engineer in Argentina and they said they’re doing it there as well. He’s overworked, they’re increasing projects but with less people; they’re asking everyone to pull double duty there too. It’s crazy the level of ineptitude at the top.
Better for us techs, at a ratio of 45/50:1 the prisoners will run the jailhouse.
Up to 50 techs, ha! Hope nobody gets sick! The volume of calls, texts and emails would be comical. I doubt this info, anybody with a brain knows it’s not manageable, but wouldn’t be surprised.... Maybe they’ll bring in some gophers to play assistant managers? 🤣
