Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

MANAGEMENT CONCESSION AFTER LAYOFF

I have paperless billing and received notification that my next bill is ready. T can only deliver 6Mbps UVERSE / INTERNET in my neighborhood. My bills were paid up to date at the middle of last month. I went off payroll at the end of March. When I opened the email, the email said that I owe nearly $100. When I checked my bill at att.com, the statement is only for one -quarter of what the email says, and it is not a bill.

As I was driving over to the competition, I made several calls to T to try to resolve the billing issues. T is trying to pull a fast one by trying to collect back charges, unauthorized changes were made to my account by adding an unlimited plan, and when I informed them that I was going to get service from their competitor, they tried to help. For 6Mbps T said the best they can do is lower the speed to 1.5Mbps for $45 / month.

T lost my business today, for good. I dislike cheaters and unethical practices.

I live in a fairly large town and the only service I can get from T is dialup and DirecTV. They will not do any fiber to the house in the city and the copper plant is not being maintained. I doubt we will get the great 5G that up management thinks will solve all their problems.

As a manager your entire T career was working for an unethical company. Sorry you figured that out after you were dismissed.

Yes they added an unlimited charge to retirees and even employees bills and then they said it was a mistake when you call some offshore customer service folks and they credit the $30 and instead start charging a $5 monthly equipment fee.

Should have canceled all services the day you got your walking papers. You knew the discounts are going away. Duh.

I only use AT&T services for the employee discount. After I am gone from this disaster of a communications company I will immediately cancel my services and never do business with this company again.

Now you know how customers have felt for years. I’m going mobile prepaid and getting Comcast new customer promo if my ticket is punched.

If you’re issues consists of anything slightly complicated it won’t get fixed and they'll never call you back when they say they will. You’ll get bounced between India and the Philippines nonstop until you give up. Those people are paid 2 to 3 dollars a day and don’t care about customers or At&t.

Hey we can offer you 768 for dial up! How’s that for high speed at 80.00 a month!! And have your bill constantly change every month! They don’t care they will screw you as bad as regular customers......sad way to conduct Business.

Prior to leaving the business my bill crept up from $3.78 a month to $23.00 a month with zero changes. I had dial tone with all the bells and whistles and DSL. The first billing after I left the business was $67.00. I paid that, then 3 weeks later I’m billed for an additional $19.00. The next month my bill showed a credit of $19.00. Then I was credited $37.00. I canceled my account after paying the $67.00 yet my bill didn’t clear until 5 months after I canceled. The topper was I was sent a check for the credit TWICE. I only cashed the first, don’t plan on cashing the second. I don’t need that headache,

I noticed that about the unlimited option on Uverse internet. It was mentioned in an email recently. They said it was on my account, but I didn't ask for it, nor do I approach the limit. And it wasn't on the account when it was first opened. And I've only made one change - the speed, but I never discussed this "unlimited data" that I don't use.

They keep track of the data. In particular, if you've never used it, (by going over the amount of data without it) and it was never put on your account without your consent, I don't think you owe the money.

Don’t you just love dealing with their billing. It is like taking a fork a pushing it slowly into your eye.
