Was 10 bucks a month when I was an employee.
Now $115 a month as a retiree.
Called 3 months ago to see if they could reduce it. Nope.
Call back.
Just did... still nope. 17 year customer.
I went from T 8M Uverse to 100M Spectrum for less $$$ a few months ago.
On Aug 9, my DTV will be shut off. I'll buy an antennae, wife has
Netflix and Hulu. I haven't watched any TV in 2 years.
And I'll be switching my cell service soon.

@1vja. Yeah the streaming options are light years ahead of what t has and one has to wonder what exactly the entertainment group is doing besides going through logs for “data mining” so they can send you commercials.
Yep t I nothing but cheap plastic made brand. Sell nothing but junk now and get rid of American employees whenever they can.
Retired 8/18 was happy with uverse and employee costs.....until they unassed the discount and tried to jam me with retro fee’s not to mention my bill doubled.....amazingly the 1st rep I got on the phone at T concessions completely understood and immediately cancelled all my T services and removed all bs fee’s....she said she was well versed in cancelling ex-employee’s services as it happens daily....or was that hourly
I left the company recently, and just cancelled my U-verse and landline phone.
I’d never even considered anything other than U-verse both due to the employee discount, and a sense of loyalty. But there are a whole lot of streaming options out there far cheaper and equally good.
Att may be headed toward a streaming/content driven future... but there are already a lot of other, better, existing options out there. What are they going to come up with that’s better? That’s the real question.
Sell your t fund shares if at all possible, too.
i am a retiree too.... first thing I did was cancel DTV. The DTV value proposition really s---s. I am very happy now with antenna and Netflix.

Amen. 20+ year employee here, I read all the time about everyone freaking out to reach retirement eligibility or MR 75. Why?
It is not the discounts... or even the health care since they stripped that back as well...... Its the pension!!
They outsourced me a few months short of MR75...... what I get for a pension got reduced by 60% of what it would have been. That is why.
I’d only use streaming services and OTA channels for local news if it wasn’t for our discount. Nothing but c-ap on television nowadays anyway.
I bailed on the DTV also went with Directv Now for half the cost. Still get good deal on internet. Wireless is on the way out after some devices are paid for.
I'm tired of being treated like a worker that does his job and gets paid on time every payday. Somethings got to give around here. Screw these raises and bonuses every year. It's not enough, and someones got to tell them to stop.
Last I looked into it retirees only get 25% off...?
And in the past you’d get free pots minus the regulatory fees. But what good is a house phone now?
When I retire, switching to spectrum & T-Mobile. AT&T services are over priced, not sure why people subscribe to them @ all.
You guys are gonna miss the “golden girls” and “Smokey and the bandit” if you get rid of tv though.

I know healthcare is a huge concern, but as management I have been on my spouses for years now as AT&T’s high deductibles and premiums got higher and higher. I’d get rid of DTV immediately without the employee discount, and I would do better with a T Mobile family plan than with my discounted plan here. What other great “benefits” am I missing?

I totally understand. I've been with this company for 30 years of my life. I've given them my heart and soul. Went out of my way for extra projects, sometimes I had to finish it on my own time. Yes, that was my mistake, but they used to treat me so good,it just did not matter. I was proud of where I worked. Lets fast forward today..... Treated like c-ap, nobody cares, treated like another number and threaten with my job everyday. I am eligible to retire but not old enough to collect social security. I've investigated insurance retiree benefits. I would go broke trying to afford their insurance rates. With my discounts removed, it would not be wise to stick with at&t services. I can go to another company for cellphone and T.V and pay less. One would think for all the years of service, they would say thank you with better discounts. Its just around the corner, I will be saying bye bye. For those who are saying "just leave already"..... talk to me when you've been here 30 years.... if you can survive at at&t that long.
