There is a difference in being let go due to ROLE vs. LOCATION.

CLT layoffs in IHA were due to role elimination or offshoring (e.g., Phillippines). Those is SF are due to location (region's salary band too high).

Maybe if they'd kept some of the golden parachute $$$ (millions) from Stumpf, Tolstedt and countless others, they'd have had enough $$$ to avoid these cuts to the bone.

WF is soooo mismanaged. It's a tragedy.

Dallas
San Antonio
Portland
Charlotte
Des Moines
St Louis
Minneapolis

That’s the 7 hubs and where they want hiring concentrated to over the next few years.

Interesting you can’t find anything on Teamwork’s that outlines or even states the Hub cities.

You must not know anybody in the in house agency. Entire groups were let go in Charlotte and Des Moines was shuttered. We were told the work was being consolidated in SF and Minneapolis.

And of course Manila.

Marketing is being consolidated in Charlotte, not SF. Everyone I know in Mktg that was laid off was in SF.

Marketing is being consolidated in San Francisco and Minneapolis. Other locations are being shuttered. The person who was insisting the jobs were moving to Charlotte was fantasizing.

The shift to move personnel to area 2 and 3 cities is very real. It was adopted at the operating committee and will take years to fully implement. Think about it from a logical standpoint. If you are in a non-customer facing role, would you pay double what it would take to hire a fully capable person in an area 3 at half the pay? You also need to factor in rent costs assuming there’s space benefits costs, etc. While there is top talent in SFO, Wells is not looking to hire top talent. They are downgrading the talent pool by hiring younger less expensive employees in cheaper markets. But keep telling yourself they are hiring in DC and SFO but it won’t make it so.

Previous post is false. There is renewed interest from leadership in growing SF as that is where top talent is. That's not to say it's not difficult to recruit there since it's so expensive. I'm uncertain about DC.

All hub cities are area 2 or 3. Cities that are area 0 or 1 will see the number of employees decline. San Fran and DC are the first cities where there’s a focus effort to move jobs to lower cost markets. That’s not to say there won’t be executives in higher priced cities. But if you function isn’t customer facing or you aren’t an EVP, chances are your job will be relocated to a hub city. Deloitte was leading this effort for HR

Of course SF is a hub. Headquarters are there.

San Francisco is not a hub? It's where corporate is.

What is DC? (I can't imagine it means Washington, D.C.)
