short answer yes. If you are in d3 go to your contract and READ and UNDERSTAND Article 7, then read it again and again, not sure about d4, but whatever article covers surplus do the same, READ and UNDERSTAND. I know it's not a popular thing to say, but the union will look you in the eye while shaking your hand and lie to you if it suits their purpose at the time. Believe it or not, if not it is at your own peril.

I will be surplussed. Will people who put in for in for SIPP be listed as vacancies for us as a option to pick from? Thank you very much.
What is a SIPP?
If anyone has put in for SIPP in the S/E for 3rd quarter, more than likely you will receive a call this week if there is a surplus with same title and within 35 miles of you.
There will be another round of calls after surplus affected employees has had their brief from the staffing dept. You will be on there master ranking sheet as a choice. If someone picks you provided the employee qualifies for your position then you will be granted SIPP at that time.
Be patient out there if you have put in for SIPP.
You should here something by mid September.

Regular SIPP won't help most people. The company needs to offer an enhanced SIPP offer, with at least a year's pay, instead of the normal measly 6 months. THEN you would have a LOT of people wanting to leave. Come on Union! Do your job for once!!!
They need to offer Sipp in SE, I know alot of people waiting on it
