I did. They ask for my card and they got it. I grew up in a UAW family. CWA hasn’t been a union in several decades. Poor amateur wording in contracts. Loopholes left to the discretion of management with shrug shoulders from local union reps. Poor excuse for paid representation. If CWA was a product on a store shelf, it would set there a long time...

How great for you @1hbm. I wish Prem Techs had a union so they could make 80 grand before FORCED overtime.

Back too the original post..

What exactly does that mean?

C-splicers, deg, inspectors can’t bump too tfs? And vice versa? If so are they just s.o.l.?

The union is its members. If CWA leadership is letting its members down, it’s up to the members to vote them out. Don’t blame the “union”. The union is you guys. It’s like blaming yourself. We at top of craft make 80k base BEFORE OT or standby pay. We get 5 weeks vacation. We get 52 weeks short term disability full pay. Do you think At&t would give anywhere close to that without a union ?! We have plenty of non union non management craft employees at At&t. Go ask them how generous At&t is to them without a union to negotiate for them. They make on average 15 to 20 grand less a year and they have a fraction of the benefits we enjoy. Go get that imaginary better paying non union job without a degree then. Wake up. Quit complaining about your own union when it’s up to individual members like you to make the changes they want. The reality is At&t has more techs than it needs. The union cannot work miracles and force the company to keep techs it doesn’t need. All it can do is negotiate with a company that doesn’t feel the need to negotiate. It’s only fair labor practice laws and bargaining laws that keeps At&t at the table. That and political and social pressure from the outside world. That’s why it’s so important to stand with your union if you want to keep your benefits. That’s reality.

@ZWwbTNN-1mjf - I’d love to see you make this statement in person to any Union Officer or Bargaining Committee Member’s face. Only talk big behind a keyboard. Keep stirring the pot. You have no clue. The Union is only as strong as its Membership. I’d bet you don’t even know where the Union Hall is.

Remember none of the union officers or the bargaining committee are professional negotiators. Regardless of how good they are, they are still amateurs. You are paying these amateurs to speak for you. They will do or say anything to keep the company happy and the membership controlled as to keep the precious dues rolling in.

Watch out union ran around telling surplus that if they ratify the contract company is taking them all off surplus. Now this union thinks members are stupid, if they do that then they can surplus under the new article and it won't be good. So sad union seeks it's members down the midwest River.

You’ll know if you nit getting the whole story if you have a 15 minute meeting about details, and then expected to vote on it. You need the agreement on paper and a week to think about it.

The union local presidents will get their briefing Tuesday evening. We'll all know a lot more on Wednesday.
